Please avoid cosmetic edits
editThank you for your contributions to templates about the Olympics. Unfortunately, some of these edits are cosmetic – they change the wikitext, without affecting the output. Such edits are undesirable. See WP:COSMETICEDIT for details.
For example:
- Special:Diff/1201519376 – Épée (fencing) is a redirect to Épée, the disambiguation is not needed.
- Special:Diff/1201527909 – template {{Sidebar games events}} can handle empty parameters just fine. Removing empty parameters like this is not useful on its own.
- Special:Diff/1201520339 – this edit just moves the line with
|alignresults=right
. However, order of named parameters to templates doesn't matter.
All of these edits also have unnecessary changes to whitespace in wikitext.
I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. —andrybak (talk) 23:19, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
