Hi and politician wikidata

Hi there!

If you're not already part of the local wikidata chapter, it sounds like you might be interested.

I'm working on https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_every_politician with mySociety and YaguraStation told me about https://www.meetup.com/Wikimedia-ZA/events/qzqrnpyxnbbc/ in October 2018.

We've created #wikidata on ZATech Slack where you can meet us and share experiences which the local wikidata community might value.

Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbothma (talkcontribs) 11:12, 12 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Htonl. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Cape Town elections

Hi Htonl

From what I can tell from IEC data, there was 4 defections from the NNP to the ID in 2004. So ANC ended up with 104 seats instead of 108. I don't know how to update the map to show this, and was wondering if perhaps you could help me? -- Darthdyas (talk) 22:48, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for catching that - I have corrected it but you may need to refresh to make sure the new image appears for you. - htonl (talk) 07:20, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the quick response -- Darthdyas (talk) 20:12, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

R215 (South Africa)

Hi, wondering if you could help with this. I was hoping to de-orphan it, but List of regional routes in South Africa doesn't include any routes designated R2XX. I'm not sure if it's deprecated, renamed, or a hoax. Any idea? ♠PMC(talk) 16:23, 17 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Closest to hoax, I think. The RDDA, which is the document that describes route numbers, doesn't show an R215 (or any route R2xx). The SADC Road Traffic Signs Manual states on page 8.6.1 that "At the time of publishing no routes have been allocated numbers in the R200 to R299 [...] groups." Salt Rock and Sheffield Beach are right next to each other on the Dolphin Coast, so you wouldn't expect there to be a numbered route for such a short distance. And I can find no evidence of such a route number on any map of the area. Would you like to nominate it for deletion, or shall I? - htonl (talk) 07:54, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I'll {{G3}} it with a reference to this discussion :) ♠PMC(talk) 15:03, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
