  • Thank you for information. In the beginning I mistaked the article and added it below Eric Peters article of an english football player. Then I withdraw these lines and made another Eric Peters draw. But how to make this to an official wikipedia articel? I guess the articel is ok now. Isn't it possible to have two articels of two different persons of same name here?

Yes. If you've got two people of the same name, but one is much more notable than the other, you would have a main article and then a second article that specified which person. The only example I can find off-hand is William Kaplan, a prominent Canadian attorney. The comic book character of the same name was, at one point, found at William Kaplan (comics) - and note that there is a link to the comic character at the top of the attorney's page (though it's now a redirect). If you have lots of people with the same name, then the main article would be a list of those people, as with John Smith. In your case, I'd suggest using Eric Peters (painter), and then adding a link from the footballer's page. Hope this helps, UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 12:13, 20 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Thank you for your help! I used Eric Peters - German painter and have sent the file for release. Will try to ad the link from footballer's page.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Jürgen Linden requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies.

The article is about one of the most important lord mayors of Aachen. Wikipedia also reports about former Lord Mayors like Mr. Malangré and Mr. Daldrup who aren't that important for Aachen as Mr. Linden has been. This is a first draw of the article, some pictures and further links and refernces will follow. Mr. Linden also is mentioned here:

Eric Peters

edit

I found your article on Eric Peters - German painter, because you changed Eric Peters the Scottish rugby player.
I have removed the links to the Spanish, Polish, Russion and other Wikis, because there is no article on Eric Peters in these Wikis, and removed the link to the French Wiki - because the article on Eric Peters in the French Wiki is about the rugby player.
Your article is a translation of the German Wiki article, which is OK, but needs changing to the way the English Wiki works (we do not use * for birth, do not link years etc.) There are a lot more little things to change, but first there is a big problem.

The big problem is that Eric Peters does not seem "notable" - he does not seem to have done enough important things to be included in an encyclopedia.
I have looked at "Links auf diese Siete" in the German Eric Peters article and this only has four links -

  • Peters - he appears on a list of other people called Peters
  • FH Aachen - he attended FH Archen - true but not very interesting
  • Liste der Biografien/Pet–Pez - he appears in a list of Biography articles
  • Wikipedia:Qualitätssicherung/15. August 2010/erledigt - Quality control found several problems with the article.

I do not know what the rules are in the German Wiki, but this is not enough for the English Wiki.
Unless you can show how Eric Peters is important - using examples where he has appeared in books, magazines or the Internet (but not things written by him, or his friends), the article will be deleted from the English Wiki.

The German wiki about Peters I also have written. Can you tell me why an english rugby player is more important than a german painter who sells paintings to the usa for prices of about 100.000 US-Dollars and who just was celebrated in the world famous russian state museum by thousands of visitors? One of Peters paintings will be situated in the entrance of the russian state museum in St. Petersburg just opposite to a painting of Pablo Picasso in the near future. Peters is a painter with growing influence in the art scene and his fame will rise the next years extraordinarily.

I don't know which experience you have on art and painting but it looks like it is less because it looks like you neither now the russian state museum nor the suermond ludwig museum in aachen, one musem of the world famous art collector Ludwig, who was the on of the first collectors of pop art in the 1970th. His collection now is in aachen, paris, budapest, st. petersburg, tokyo and some other places. The exhibition in St. Petersburg was organised by the collection ludwig in the russian museum of art. I can't see any qualification of you to evaluate the artistic quality of Peters and his ranking in the art of painting. I would'nt be surprised - if you would find by accident - you even would delete the wiki article of Neo Rauch, a German painter, too. :-)

This is not about my experience, or Peter's artistic quality. I like what I have seen, but whether I like it or not is not important, it is whether it meets the Wikipedia rules. I am trying to help you, by explaining what you need to do, to stop some other editor wanting to delete your article. I see someone has already tried to delete Jürgen Linden.
You have included 5 references in your article, but the first reference is to the German Wikipedia, which is not allowed. Can you find a reference on the FH Aachen website to prove he was a student there? (My German is not as good as your English)
You have included several external links, which give lots of the information in the article, but you need to refer to these in the right place in the article. The Yoga web-site does not mention Peters, so this should be removed. You must also be careful using information on Peters own web-site - use other sources if you can.
If possible, you should also link your article to other articles in the English Wikipedia, or somone will call it an "orphan" (the translation is "Waise" in German, but I do not know if the German Wiki uses that word for an article that does not link to others.)
If you press "what links here" ("Links auf diese Siete") you will find Eric Peters - German painter only links to "Eric Peters" (the rugby player) and you. If you do the same with Eric Peters the rugby player, you will see he has 21 links.
You ask "why an english rugby player is more important than a german painter"?
Eric Peters is from Scotland (Schottland in German) and was captain of the national team.[1]
In Wikipedia the first article that is written usually takes the name. So, in the German Wiki, Eric Peters is the painter. If I translate the rugby player into German, he will have to have a different name. In the English (and French) Wiki it is the rugby player.
