Amazon River article

edit

I haven't seen the Dutch page - I wouldn't, I don't have any knowledge of the language, but if the page it's worse than the English one, as you say, then it's REALLY bad, because the English one is bad enough... (Shamefully, the Portuguese page is even worse!) Too much dubious information on some topics, too little in others, inconsistent language, unsubstantiated claims, lack of unity... I would make an extensive rewrite if I had time to look for more sources. It helps that I am Brazilian and we have a lot of first-hand information both at school and in the news, even though of course most Brazilians live in more developed areas thousands of kilometres from the Amazon region and have no direct experience of it. I have only been once in Belém and twice in Manaus myself, and that was many years ago.

As for your contribution, any additional significant information is, in principle, welcome, but again, be careful not to state as general scientific consensus the claims of one single paper. I believe my suggestion of "author X (reference) claims that..." is still a good one.
