COI notice

edit

  Hello, IDKANS. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:33, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

The username resonates with the Idaho-Kansas partnership mentioned in the BAITSSS article. This user has a conflict of interest that requires disclosure. Furthermore, there is evidence of batton passing puppetry afoot, with IDKANS first editing on 06NOV2019, and User:Dhun9265 last editing 19OCT2019. -- Paleorthid (talk) 19:23, 18 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
IDKANS, thank you for your many constructive edits on the article. I am responding to the query you left on my talk page as to the nature of my concern. My concern is that you have yet to disclose your relationship with the article subject, despite pointed suggestions that you consider doing so. Based what you are willing to share, other editors can craft informed article improvements necessary to satisfy conflict of interest concerns. -- Paleorthid (talk) 05:26, 19 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Paleorthid, my impression is most of the scientific article and climate/ hydrological models are left incomplete and low on the quality scale. Currently, I am busy with other stuff, but once I get a chance, I will be working on many of these scientific models to make more complete. Thank you for your concern and as I mentioned in BAITSSS talk page, I have completed most of my improvement for this article and hopefully, it might have improved to some extent.

IDKANS, you still haven't disclosed your personal affiliation to this project or the schools. Are you connected to Kansas State or Idaho? Are you Prof. Dhungel? Were you associated with Dhungel's research group? Why is this considered an objective to complete? Paleorthid, see also User_talk:AngusWOOF/Archive_16#Draft:_BAITSSS. I can't tell if he's just a fan or has been involved in getting these models publicized and promoted. As for Dhun9265, that username sounds like that's coming from Dhungel himself. Who would name themselves after a random professor if they are not associated with them? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:40, 20 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

As I mentioned earlier in my discussions, I know BAITSSS from Dhungel, METRIC from Allen, SEBAL from Bastiaanssen, SWAT, Hydrus (software) from Šimůnek, HEC-RAS from United States Army Corps of Engineers, and VIC from Liang et al., 1994 etc. Most of them are already in the wiki, I am sure one way to other these software are included by either someone had used or developed. My intent complete means, based on my web search, it seems that from 2010-2019, may facts are included. I might be working with other models like VIC which is yet to be included in wiki, which is another popular model in the hydrological community. Overall, I think, this conversation is getting more harder and think discouraged.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited BAITSSS, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Digital (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dhun9265, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
