Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Global trade in the early modern world, from its old location at User:INicolas225/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 02:58, 28 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Feedback

edit

Hi! Here's some feedback on your shipbuilding draft:

  • The first thing I noticed was that the work is fairly general in what it talks about - you do have the topic of early modern period shipbuilding, but this seems to be a bit too general in that parts of it are fairly vague. You may want to focus on how shipbuilding evolved during this time period in each area and what major changes came about.
  • The article needs to take more of a global viewpoint - you have it from three major areas (Middle East, Asia, and Europe) but not from other areas.
  • The article was declined as an essay - make sure that when you're writing that the style is encyclopedic. Avoid things that come across as a personal point of view, such as "one of the most famous" or "most recognizable". If these are included, make sure that they're properly attributed to the source material.
  • The sourcing here is fine, however it would definitely be good to find more sourcing that is specific to shipbuilding. This is already covered to some degree in the main article on shipbuilding, but what you need to do is show where the topic is expansive enough to where it should have its own article as opposed to an expanded subsection in the main article. You also need to specify what pages you're pulling the content from, especially when citing something from a book source.
  • Don't forget to link to articles such as early modern period in your draft so people can have context.

I hope that this helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:00, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
