Hello
editPlease do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Takeover Records. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Wildthing61476 18:07, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Ian, sorry about that, Textdumps are seen as nonsense/vandalism. If they want to test creating a page, they should do it either on subpage of their user page or in the sandbox. Wildthing61476 20:53, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
I follow now. I'm new myself but do have a design background. Just teaching someone at work on how to edit. Thanks!
License tagging for Image:GeraldNobles TheJedi.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:GeraldNobles TheJedi.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:10, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Tommy Stars, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, article #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Alphageekpa 23:32, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

- This information is better suited to a user page. Alphageekpa 23:35, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Hello! Brian H Harris (author) is not the appropriate spot to post information about yourself, because that's the encyclopedic part of the Wikipedia website. User:IanBlade, however, is available for personal information about yourself. Please see Wikipedia:Introduction and Wikipedia:User page for more information. Alphageekpa 23:37, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- You might want to read WP:BIO as a good starting point (just enter WP:BIO in the search bar on left side of page and hit Go). There you will find criteria for determining notability, both of authors and (especially) of musical artists and performers. There are a couple links in the warning posts above that will provide further information (particularly vanity guidelines). If you're into local history, you might want to get involved with Wikiproject: Philadelphia [1]... there's a lot of good stuff going on, and people with historical interest and know-how are always needed... As for the image question, it is not enough to merely cite the source. From the looks of it, the image that you uploaded is copyrighted. You'll want to refer to here [2]. Also, remember to sign your messages (just type four tildes at the end). Alphageekpa 17:26, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
WP: Philadelphia
editGreetings, IanBlade. I saw your post on the WikiProject Philadelphia page. Welcome to the project. I am also trying to contribute what I can. Seeing that you're involved in the Historical Society out there, I'm hoping you'll be able to help me/wiki out with two items. I used to live just outside of there, but alas I live in Delaware County now, and I don't get over there very easily.
- 1) Frankford High - I have heard through the grapevine (I work for an engineering company) that Frankford High is slated for demolition in place of a new school. I'm hoping that you might be able to snag some nice snapshots of the school and (if you can gain entrance) the Pipe Organ before demolition. Looking at the Frankford High School page, it looks pretty sad. I'll be trying to expand that soon. If there's anything you can add, that'd be great.
- 2) Byberry Hospital - I'm also looking to expand the content on this page. I know that this is in the process of demolition. If there are still some buildings there, perhaps you can grab some shots of the buildings that are still standing and some of the demolition work? I'm also hoping that your connections with the Historical Society might be able to get us some first-tier references that we can use to expand that page. Maybe some old photographs, some first-hand documents of historical facts, etc. I can add a lot, but I'd like to cite sources as much as possible. I've sorta become obsessed with the site as my parents met there (they both had keys).
Glad to have you aboard: --Coplan 21:53, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks!!!! The issue of Frankford High School is news to me. I do know that they are going to demolish Fels High School as they are building a new school on the old site of JFK Hospital. Either way getting photos of Frankford High should be no problem. And if there is a plan to demolish there is going to be a huge outcry. As far as Byberry there are buildings standing but the last time (yesterday) I drove by I did notice some have already started the process of being torn down. My off days are Tuesday and Wednesday so I can get up there and snap a few.
- Glad to be on board and I hope to contribute what time will allow. Thanks! IanBlade 10:00, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Brian, please do edit this article! I've started over a hundred articles here, but nothing pleases me more than to see them grow with others' contributions. I also started the Bull Behman, Punk Berryman, George Gibson (football), Herb Joesting, Pete Retzlaff, Tom Woodeshick, Jerry Wolman, Lud Wray, and Philadelphia Quakers (AFL) articles; you might take a look at those too. On the FYJ, I found a lot of info at this site, but it's hard to tell how much of it is authoritative. This and other references have me thoroughly confused about the order of FYJ's head coaches. Hey, I have your book--nice job! BTW, I live a half-block from Frankford High's Stadium, where I understand the FYJ played a single (altho non-league) game in their final season.--BillFlis 22:49, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks!!!! The Yellow Jackets are my passion and I am actually speaking on them this Tuesday in Holmesburg with John Fenton, webmaster of Ghosts of the Gridiron. At the society we have almost every gameday program and that is what John and I go through for most of the references. John has also done extensive research through the newspaper archives at the main library downtown. As far as the entry for the Jackets I would like to edit and confirm that the teams roots do go back to 1899. The society also owns the copywrite to most existing Yellow Jackets photos (we still have the film negatives from the 1920's)!!!!!
- I should be adding more to it as I draw up my paper for my talk next week. As far as that one game at Frankford High, yup. Also did you attend Northwood Civic when I presented the Yellow Jackets semi-pro team? We ran into a few bumps (coaches stealing players and going to other teams) but have a few backers and hope to be in a spring league in 2007.
- Talk to you in Wiki-world. IanBlade 10:00, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Was there any connection between the Frankford Athletic Association and the Frankford Country Club - I recently picked up a post card of the golf course there and remember stories my father told that involved working at a golf course while playing for the Yellow Jackets. Churches
editBrian, I some how missed your comment here for 6 months before I saw it. Thanks for the article. It's great to have help on this topic. You've got a great article started. I'm not the english major so I won't comment on how it's structured. It looks like someone has flagged it to be wiki-fied. Others will improve it over time, but you have set a high standard for the amount of research and information that can be given for a church. Thanks for the hard work!
