Spelling changes, page moves, etc

edit

As you are not leaving WP:Edit summaries I have no idea why you are doing this, but you need to read WP:COMMONNAME. I've already reverted you on two articles where Google Scholar makes it clear what the common English spelling is. Please don't continue to make such changes unless you are sure that you are changing it to a more common English spelling. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 14:51, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

See the article Al-Hawl. Is is a town in eastern al-Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria. The name is al-Hawl, and not el-Hol or al-Hol. --erium-eriae (talk) 14:57, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

But the section in question is about the archaeological site, not the town. Gscholar gives 185[1] for Wadi el-Hol inscriptions and none[2] for Wadi Al-Hawl inscriptions. The spelling of the name of the town wouldn't help readers find scholarly sources on the inscriptions. Doug Weller talk 15:08, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Thank you for the information. I won't change this section. But I have a question: The name of locatiol may be thanliterate as Wadi al-Hawl or is the same name Wadi el-Hol?--erium-eriae (talk) 15:17, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Do you mean transliterated? I don't know. We simply rely upon what sources meeting WP:RS tell us. Doug Weller talk 17:06, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Aram, son of Shem, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Aram. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Madlen Ishoeva moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Madlen Ishoeva, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:04, 16 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
