Lethal White (novel) moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Lethal White (novel), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. - EROS: But the tweet is the primary source! No other citation would be better because they all fundamentally stem from those tweets, which were made by the author (the only person privy to the relevant information) in a public setting. They constitute official statements by the author just as in a press-release, except there can be no confusion because the sourcing is direct and not subjected to processing or interpretation. It is impossible to get a more reliable source than these, and - moreover - these are as reliable as it is possible to be for anything outside of the realm of logic. Unless the account was hacked (and the tweets were left uncorrected for nearly half of a month so far) or the author was lying, this information is guaranteed to be correct and at least as correct as any other source which says or references the same thing. I know that the information in those tweets is correct with a higher certainty than I know literally anything which is reported in an adequately reliable source (such as a scientific paper or newspaper) because the announcement contained within the tweet defines itself to be true; it is like a licensed official declaring "I now pronounce you man and wife" - it is true because it says that it is true. Why not go to the direct source which literally anyone on the planet can verify for themselves and which will be the source for any other report of the same or derived information? It makes no sense to do otherwise. -- IbexNu (talk) 04:50, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
- @IbexNu: Greetings. I saw you posted a message on my talkpage and also tagged me here. Do not worry as I will correspond with you. Wikipedia users are from different countries and we may differ in our time zones. Albeit your justification, Wikipedia doesn't accept Twitter (or Facebook, Youtube,...) as a legitimate and reliable source. Moreover, primary sources are not encouraged to be used as it affiliates with the subject too closely, conflict of interest for that matter. The reason we do not accept twitter is because it is a user-generated website. If the author has press releases on the subject then it'll be good. What we want as sources are: newspaper articles, press release or articles from mainstream publication. You are advised to read the blue hyperlinks on the declination banner. If any question persist, please post a question at the Helpdesk. EROS message 07:32, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Instructions: Citing source from web - Do not copy and past the URL address and paste into the body text, but click "cite" on menu page and fill in the fields as per the Template: cite web and save when it is done). Examples below:
To add an in-line text citation for an internet reference, there are 3 web citing methods as below:

(note: remove nowiki tag when input the citation. Fill the info and change the date as needed. See on source edit view mode.)
I have use Visual Editor to cite the source in this article. Do note Visual Editor has a little different format as it is automated program. You would notice, the date format is different, the "publisher" becomes "work" and Visual Editor might not able to pick up the first and last name of the source's authors. Thank you and let me know if you need further assistance. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:03, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:14, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 6
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Convergence tests, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Harmonic series. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
