A tag has been placed on Shoebacca, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - The article on your competitor was written in an encyclopedic manner, and establishes the notability of the company. The deleted Shoebacca article was not written in an encyclopedic manner, but rather like an advertisement; and did nothing to establish any notability for the company. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:58, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Frankly, I don't see any way on Earth that this business is notable. To prove me wrong, you have to follow the guidelines on notability for companies. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:07, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

editPlease read the links above rather than asking questions that were already answered. Shoebacca is not a notable company. Thanks! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:00, 26 February 2008 (UTC)`

Okay, got it
editthanks for the insight guys. Please note that notability on Wikipedia does not mean that a company is not credible, for those who read this stuff. We are as just as credible as Zappos, which seems to be notable enough to merit a listing here, and I guarantee you will find more information and accuracy regarding the product at the SHOEBACCA.com site. Maybe after we have been around long enough to merit a Wikipedia entry, you'll think better of us. IceburgTX (talk) 16:19, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Credible ≠ notable. Please read carefully. Zappos has a notable sales record, and has nontrivial and nonadvertising mention from other notable sources. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:22, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Credible = I know a dude that makes awesome shoes and sells alot online. Notable = my friend owns Nike. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:24, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, it's not a matter of thinking poorly of you, Iceburg. We just have to have some kind of cut-off, or Joe's Barber Shop off Main Street in Luckenbach would have an article here (there are Wikis where Joe could have one, actually; but not Wikipedia). I'm not gonna throw one of our canned "Welcome to Wikipedia!" messages at you, but believe me, you are welcome here. Everybody knows something useful about something, and can help edit. (But if, as I deduce, you have a connection to Shoebacca, then do read all the warnings at WP:COI, will ya?) --Orange Mike | Talk 16:28, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Duly noted. :-) IceburgTX (talk) 16:31, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- CobaltBlueTony™ talk has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling at someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Cheers, and Happy editing!

Face down in the snow, no lube???
editMaybe a 'lil bit, but you can tag it with {{tone}} and leave a note on the talk page about your concerns. You could also attempt to fix it, if that's not asking too much to care about your competitor's page. This is an encyclopedia, so all verbage should really be unbiased and neutral. Now pull your pants up, dude. ;-) - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 16:30, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
