Hi,

Your edits pertaining to the Romanian age of consent may be inaccurate. According to this article, "Currently, there is no minimum age of the minor under which it is considered that he cannot give valid consent in the case of sexual intercourse with an adult partner or with a partner with an age difference of more than three years. This minimum age would eliminate the possibility of classifying the act as a crime of sexual intercourse with a minor and would classify it as a crime of rape." It goes on to say that "In June, the Senate adopted Legislative Proposal L423/2022 regarding the amendment of the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code, which introduces an age limit (15 years) for valid consent in the case of sexual relations with minors. In the case of amendments to organic laws, the Chamber of Deputies is the decision-making chamber. The arguments for which the Chamber of Deputies must introduce 16 years as the limit of valid consent are very numerous and well-founded." I think what the article is implying is that Romania currently has no age of consent, but the proposal (passed by the Senate but not the Chamber of Deputies yet) is to set an age of 15 years (with some groups petitioning for an age of 16 instead). 143.44.67.100 (talk) 143.44.67.100 (talk) 21:28, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Cassiopeia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Dacia, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Cassiopeia talk 09:38, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I am currently trying to fix the insane ammount of sourceless, baseless historically revisionist claims on there. I was just updating it with a source! Thanks. Iceylore (talk) 09:49, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dacian map

edit

I want to know why was the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dacian_Kingdom_under_Burebista.png removed since it was an sourced map, I don't mean that it's an accurate map, there is no accurate map of the biggest extent of the dacian kingdom since there is less info, but it's one of the closest and approximate territory BalcanVali (talk) 18:09, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the evolution of the Dacian kingdom, it's important to note that the map isn't entirely accurate. There is no definitive map of the Dacian kingdom; the one presented reflects the Dacian lands' development based on Strabo's accounts. It illustrates initial targets, such as the Celts, and the division of the kingdom into five tribes. BalcanVali (talk) 18:12, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
While there are no definitive borders of the Dacian kingdom, I believe the general consensus among historians is that Strabo's account is somewhat weak as it has quite frankly no other sources corroborating its claims about the region. Even if that is not necessarily true (although again, as someone who is exposed to the field, that's what i've generally heard), all reputable sources provide a much more conservative estimate of the size of Dacia, which in and of itself should already be enough for us on Wikipedia to use a map that reflects that. Thank you for your input and implications. While I understand the importance of relying on multiple sources for accuracy, I believe that Strabo's account, despite its limitations, offers valuable insights into the understanding of Dacia's borders during that period. While no map can be truly accurate, especially given the scarcity of corroborating sources from that era, the maps that were included are meant to give readers a general idea of the territory Dacia might have covered and evolved according to ancient historians.
Moreover, the modern consensus on Dacia's size remains an estimate, much like Strabo's depiction. By presenting various interpretations, even those based on weaker evidence, we allow readers to understand the different perspectives and challenges historians face when reconstructing ancient territories. Maps like these, even if less precise, can help provide a more nuanced view of history. Wikipedia's role, in my opinion, is to present these diverse perspectives while clearly indicating any uncertainties. BalcanVali (talk) 20:10, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
since you didn't answer, I only added the essential maps, not the others that you delete, thank you for your implications, but next time try to ask on the talk page and communicate your plans for the page there BalcanVali (talk) 13:36, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
