Auto-citing a source using VisualEditor

Hi Ichabod Dingbat nice work starting a draft for your edits! However, you'll want to make sure that everything you plan on adding to Wikipedia is cited with reliable sources. Wikipedia depends on citations for verifiability. Citations are especially necessary following quotes or when making contentious claims. Also, I have a small comment for formatting: Section titles are not created manually using boldface. Instead, in edit mode, highlight "Early life", remove the boldface (click the underlined "A" on the toolbar), then click the dropdown that says "paragraph". Click "heading". This will create a section header.

I'm inserting a GIF on how to add a citation with the Visual Editor. Happy editing moving forward! Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:21, 28 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Elysia. I'm confused by these comments. I made my headings using exactly this method. And I don't think I have any uncited quotes or contentious claims that aren't cited. Are you looking at the Georgina Kleege draft:

The other one (on Betsey Chamberlain) is not ready at all -- I just copied and pasted part of the current version that appears on wikipedia), but I thought the Kleege one was in pretty good shape.

Also, I don't think I'm doing Talk right. Ichabod Dingbat (talk) 21:08, 28 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

My bad, I was looking at the Betsey Chamberlain draft! I will look at your other sandbox today. Talk pages can be a little confusing. We can talk about how to use them more effectively on Friday--I have a few tips! Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:04, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
