Speedy deletion nomination of ImMissingYou

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ImMissingYou requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. -- LuK3 (Talk) 22:31, 3 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. I know my username has been blocked and my created page is scheduled for speedy deletion. Also, I know that creating pages on websites is against the guidelines but all I wanted was to have an article that would fit into these two articles that is on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_networking_websites and [[1]]

ImMissingYou (talk) 21:11, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, you didn't ask a question, so it's unclear what you need help with. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:16, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

How can I get this article created instead of it being deleted? I believe it should be added to these other articles on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_networking_websites and [[2]]

At this point, your talk page should be used to address your block, not for persisting in advertising your website.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:30, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

How am I advertising my website when there's already a referenced article on social networking websites? Our website promotes change in the world. And why would I want to unblock myself if I can't create an article and neither would it benefit this website since there are no advertisements?

In order for a topic, e.g. your website, to be considered notable it must have received significant independent coverage from a reliable source. Since you are affiliated with the site, you clearly have a conflict of interest and may not be able to edit with the impartiality expected of our editors. You are discouraged from making edits to articles you are closely affiliated with. And a general rule of thumb is: if you have to write about your own subject, the subject is likely not notable. UPDATE: In researching this further, I notice that at the top of the article is a giant notice that explains exactly why the article was declined. Rather than keep demanding more of our time, please read and try to process the information you have already been provided. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:22, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Just the answer I've been looking for. Thank you very much. ImMissingYou (talk) 23:26, 15 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
