Replaceable fair use File:Sainanehwal.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sainanehwal.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 21:34, 21 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Improper reversion at Hate Story 3

edit

Surely when you reverted my removal of the Hate Story 3 plot summary you saw my rationale: I have to remove the plot summary because it is based on content stolen from http://www.hindustantimes.com/movie-reviews/hate-story-3-review-they-danced-bathed-screamed-and-bored/story-AuxXFMSGKf9HS3ke4dsQjI.html See talk page. I went the extra step to clarify in detail why I removed the content. Reverting without a valid rationale is disruptive and runs afoul of the community aspect of this collaborative encyclopedia. If you want to take a stab at rewording that entire first paragraph, you're welcome to, but we cannot have stolen content in our articles. I would say that this is a no-brainer, but I also notice that you've received at least three warnings so far about adding copyrighted content to articles. Please stop doing this, as it only hurts Wikipedia. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:35, 8 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dubs

edit

Hi there, I don't understand this edit, where you add Hindi to the list of languages for Baahubali. The film was originally shot in Tamil and Telugu, not Hindi. We don't typically include dubs in lists of this type. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:36, 28 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi, The film was also released in Hindi language, hence the collection also includes Hindi language shows earning. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Imbunty (talkcontribs)
As far as I am aware, the film was dubbed in Hindi, not filmed in Hindi. So Hindi doesn't belong in that table. Many films are dubbed in many languages. If we log them all, the language field will take over all of the content in the article, distracting from the focus, which is worldwide gross revenue. Worldwide gross is presumed to take into account all of the various languages the film might be dubbed in. In a gross list, we don't care that Avengers: Civil War was released in Italian, and if we were to list all of the languages it was dubbed or subtitled in, we'd be swimming in 150 languages. Note that at List of highest-grossing films, we don't even include language. Only because of the ethnic uproar from various members of India's ethnic subdivisions do we even care that a film was released in Tamil or in Telugu.
As a side note, please remember to sign your talk page comments with four tildes: ~~~~. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:03, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hi thanks for the side notice. As per my knowledge Bahubali had a full fledged Hindi released along with Tamil & Telugu. It was not just dubbed but released in equal number of Hindi theaters, hence i believe Hindi language should be mentioned in table.

It's ok if you think otherwise. Thanks, nice chatting. Imbunty (talk) 04:24, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Summaries of critical response

edit

Hi there, re: this, firstly, this should not have been marked as a minor edit, because it is not a cosmetic change, you snuck in a summary of critical response, which could absolutely be disputed.

Secondly, per MOS:FILM#Critical response, "The overall critical response to a film should be supported by attributions to reliable sources." So who has described the overall response as "mixed"? Where is the reliable source that says this? Summaries of critical response should be attributed to specific voices. Why?

  1. So that editors don't accidentally pollute articles with their own biases, ex: by cherrypicking negative reviews and then summarising that selection as "negative" and
  2. So that editors don't accidentally confirm someone else's bias, ex: by coming across another editor's selection of cherrypicked negative reviews and then making a personal determination that the entirety of critical response must be negative because the reviews in the article skew negative.

Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:05, 28 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
