Usage of trademark symbols

The Wikipedia Manual of Style indicates that the ™ and ® symbols should not be used on Wikipedia, unless it is necessary to distinguish a word in context. The use of those symbols on the brand names of pharmaceuticals, where there is already a different generic chemical name for the drug, does not qualify. Hi, I see you're contributing a lot of drug-related articles with links to drugs-about.com and with pointers to the drug manufacturers. Your pattern of edits suggests you're doing this as a professional activity. Could you please check our guidelines on conflicts of interest since we generally do not want contributors to edit articles related to companies that they (directly or indirectly) work for. Also, the links to drugs-about.com are inappropriate per our external link guidelines (WP:EL) as mentioned above, and finally, we usually don't have articles under the brand names of drugs (we put the articles under the chemical names, not the brand names). re: your edits

Hi, thanks for answering yesterday and I'm sorry to take so long getting back to you. Things are a LOT easier when discussion is possible. I'm sure you can understand, that as Wikipedia has gotten more popular, a lot of people have tried to advertise and sell stuff here and we have to try to stop it, so sometimes we react a little too sharply when it looks like someone might be doing that. So, I apologize if we did that to you by error.

Anyway, yes, redirecting from brand names to INN names is much better than making new articles under the brand names. Please also check our guidelines about reliable sources -- drugs-about.com appears to be mostly an advertising or sales site, so it's better to get drug data from more authoritative sources, like manufacturers' data sheets, or government agencies (the US agency would be the Food and Drug Administration but I don't know about other countries). We probably can't keep the drugs-about.com links.

Since you're editing drug-related artices, you might like to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Drugs which is a group of editors who work on these articles. There are some knowledgeable doctors and pharmacists there so it's a good place to converse with other editors interested in this topic. I don't know much about it myself (I'm mostly involved in spam cleanup). Anyway, welcome as usual, and so forth.
