Unexplained reversions

edit

Hi Fabindia. You just did two puzzling unexplained reversions at [1] and [2]. Assuming they were intentional, it helps other editors to understand what you're doing if you clearly explain the reason for your reverts. If you need help, you can learn more about how and why we revert on Wikipedia at Help:Reverting. I hope this helps. Thanks! - Anirvan 08:42, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I realized that you may not be familiar with edit summaries. Good edit summaries are a great way to let other Wikipedians know precisely what you're doing, and why you're doing it. WP recommends that editors "Always fill in the summary field", particularly in the case of content disputes. Give it a try when you get a chance. Thanks, I hope you find this helpful. - Anirvan 09:39, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I didn't realize you were intentionally trying to make unlabeled disputed content reversions. - Anirvan 10:00, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your comments on my page and at WikiProject Gender Studies

edit

Hi India Rising, thank you for your comments on my talk page and on Project Gender Studies.
Myself and a number of other editors have worked on the Save Indian Family article to make it NPOV and verifiable. I understand your concern that it may not be notable however, the article was AfD'd in November for this reason and was not deleted - since January we have also made significant ammendments to the page in order to keep the information on topic, notable and objective.
Your edits to NCW are good and very appropriate. I've left a note on that page about references to Oneworld.net because it isn't really a reliable source. Otherwise I think your version is an improvement
I'm having a look at Girija Vyas now and I'll see what I can do.
BTW I understand your concern about My Wikidness but you should not make such a personalized comment like this about another user it could be read to break the policy of Assume Good Faith. Even when a user looks like (or is) making biased posts you must work within policy and always assume good faith. Thanks again for your comments India Rising I hope Project Gender Studies can help these articles.--Cailil 21:09, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unexplained Reversions

edit

Please try and avoid unexplained reversions, especially when the edits so made re-introduce uncited or possibly POV material. In particular, your edits to Pseudo-secularism have not addressed the issues raised. Please do not revert further without discussing it on the talkpage. Thank you, and welcome to Wikipedia! Hornplease 22:53, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I notice that you have reverted again without discussion. Please familiarise yourself with WP guidelines; people have worked on trying to build a method to settle these issues. Reversion's OK, but it is suggested that you discuss issues with a reversion that meets with opposition, as this does. I look forward to hearing from you or on the appropriate talkpage. Hornplease 23:09, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Since you continue to do so, why don't I point you in the direction of some useful reading: WP:BRD, for one; even here it is suggested only that 'experienced' WPans do so, though I do not nec. agree with that. Reversions should always be subordinate to use of the talkpage. Hornplease 23:26, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Please attempt to discuss your reversions. See WP:ROWN for a discussion. Hornplease 23:27, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Also, while discussions are on, it is considered courteous to not change the disputed text immediately, and to instead present it on the talkpage first. Hornplease 00:01, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dalit

edit

The reversion on Dalit was over zealous - my apologies. However, it concerns me that there's no discussion on the article's talk page about this. It's obvious that there's a content dispute, but people are just reverting rather than discussing. I strongly urge you to talk about the matter immediately, rather than playing revert tag. Orpheus 05:08, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your reply. I agree, it's very worrying when users attempt to push a particular agenda through POV editing of pages. It seems to be religious people who are most susceptible to this, although of course it is by no means limited to them. Reviewing the edits to Dalit, I agree that they seem to be written from a "convert the heathen" style Christian perspective, which is inappropriate. It's ironic actually, because the reason I reverted in the first place was due to me reviewing the contributions from User:Maleabroad and the IP addresses he uses. That particular user is responsible for the same unhelpful, confrontational style of edits, but with Hindu instead of Christian POV. Orpheus 08:31, 7 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

File:D Sassoon.jpg missing description details

edit
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:D Sassoon.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.
