Indrajit, I have recently removed some links you have added to your personal blog either as a reference or as an external link, since it does not comply with wikipedia policies of WP:RS and WP:EL, and also raises concerns about conflict of interest/promotional content. It would be much better if you could upload the photos you post on the blog to wikimedia commons instead (as you have already done before), and then included them in the relevant article directly. Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 14:29, 10 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Indrajitdas. I got your email. You should raise content issues directly on the article talk page so that others can see and respond. The reason I reverted your edit is two fold. First, it is not properly sourced. Historical material should be sourced to historians, not to blogs. Second, I'm not sure most of the material is actually necessary in the article. For example, do we need to know where he stayed? I've added back the fact that he was in Calcutta on August 15 and what he was doing there with a source. Meanwhile, you might consider creating an article on Hydari Manzil. There is considerable detail in Lelyveld's book and perhaps you have access to other sources? --regentspark (comment) 14:54, 10 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Chinese New Year. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Zanhe (talk) 18:41, 9 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Writers' Building, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Persian. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Help with Sunayani Devi

edit

Hello Indrajit Das, I created an article about Sunayani Devi in the German Wikipedia: de:Sunayani Devi. To add some more information (also for Wikidata), I'm looking for the name in native language, unsurprisingly without success ;-). I found your user page via user boxes, would you be willing and able to help me? Another thing desparately sought would be a public domain or freely licensed image of her, but this seems quite undoable, doesn't it? Thank you in advance! --elya (talk) 15:34, 10 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello Indrajit Das, thank you so much for the image! This helps a lot. Concerning her Bengal name, could it be সুনয়নী দেবী? I have no clue, just threw it into Google translate and then in the image search and the results seem right ;-) --elya (talk) 16:09, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
