Indian Gov't Docs

edit

Hi, and thanks for the stellar work on the Indian Constitution documents. One question, regarding all those copyright bot notices you've gotten (purely due to text matches): Can you link to where the constitution and related amendments are Public Domain? It seems logical that they would be, and I'm not doubting that they are, but the sources are vague on where the line is drawn when it comes to government document copyrights, and in order to officially close the cases that the bot opens automatically, I need to show the link. Any help will be most appreciated! CrowCaw 23:55, 25 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The text of laws, judicial opinions, and other government reports, are in the public domain in India. Please see Template:PD-India. (source for that page). InfernalH (talk) 08:23, 26 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

List of offenders executed in India

edit

Hi there, great work on List of offenders executed in India! Was just wondering, we had someone email us asking about why there is no entry "100" on the list - is this deliberate or an omission? I had a look at the main PDF source but nothing stood out.

Replying here would be great. Thanks in advance!

Hi Daniel. That is an omission. We do not know how many people have been executed in India, since there are no official centrally collected records. So entry number "100" (or any other number) is not necessarily the 100th person to have been executed. It is simply the serial no. on this Wikipedia article. InfernalH (talk)
