Orphaned non-free media (File:IcewindDaleII Characterview.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:IcewindDaleII Characterview.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:25, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Auckland City and Companies

edit

See Talk:Auckland_City#Economy - It's been a few months, but I responded. BTW, please do not compare Auckland City to New York City, which is 20 times the size of Auckland City. Auckland City's article cannot, and should not, be written like New York City's in terms of scope. If you want an American city to compare Auckland City to, please use Fort Worth, Texas, which has around a similar population size to Auckland City. Thanks, actually it's still a bit rough, and could use with a broader reference base. But even if I had little interest in it so far I thought it was really a missing article... Ingolfson (talk) 03:24, 19 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

NowCommons: File:Paloaltoveteransaffairshospital.jpg

edit

File:Paloaltoveteransaffairshospital.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Paloaltoveteransaffairshospital.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Paloaltoveteransaffairshospital.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 20:53, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Good work getting that photo; looks like the weather could have been a little better for you. XLerate (talk) 11:45, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Moments like these are when I DO feel a bit frustrated at my otherwise trusty cam - no real zoom! Ingolfson (talk) 04:41, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:WestharbourFerry.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:WestharbourFerry.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.75.41 (talk) 04:26, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Aquablue OldCover.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Aquablue OldCover.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:50, 3 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock (TALK) 00:50, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your Rakiura picture

edit

Hi Ingolfson, can you tell me what your pic File:DOC Hut On The Rakiura Track Stewart Island.jpg shows? IMHO it is neither Port William hut, nor North Arm hut; it looks rather like one of the other huts between Christmas village and Doughboy bay - but which one? I hope you still know. --Sarang (talk) 13:49, 12 November 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.218.72.63 (talk) Reply

It definitely is North Arm Hut, as it was in 2005. I stayed in only two huts on Stewart Island, and didn't take any photos of the second, so there's no mistaken memory. Cheers. Ingolfson (talk) 20:30, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Leniency

edit

What is up with the redirect at Leniency? That is a general concept with no obvious relation to the TV series you've redirected the page to. Please respond at the article talk page, where I've commented. Thanks. --Tkynerd (talk) 20:51, 29 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your picture

edit

Your File:Large_Unknown_Tree_In_Albany.jpg seems to show an Eucalyptus. In New Zealand, trees often form canopy shapes, especially Eucalyptus does. As far as can see the bark and the structure of the branches look also as from an Eucalyptus. I will give it a look when I come next time to that point. --Sarang (talk) 12:32, 19 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

So you are Auckland-based as well? Cheers, Ingolfson (talk) 13:35, 19 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Not directle based, but may be next year I will give NZ another look. In the meantime I asked there and may get a swift answer.
Hope things are better now with the Rakiura subdirectories? Cheers --Sarang (talk) 14:28, 19 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your Commons:File:Stewart Island Oban Mudflats.jpg is categorized to Commons:Category:National parks of New Zealand and to Commons:Category:Stewart Island. This happened before the creation of the Commons:Category:Rakiura National Park. Either the mudflats are within the NP, then both cats are to be replaced by the new RNP one; or it is outside, then it's only SI. I do not know exactly the borders of the RNP, but you may decide. AfD nomination of Nadine Jansen

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Nadine Jansen. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nadine Jansen. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 31 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
