RfA !votes
Hi Inka. I notice you're a very prolific !voter in RfA's, but I can't recall that you've ever voted "oppose". Am I mistaken? Also, it's probably better to add some text explaining why you're !voting the way you are, rather than just to say "support", as you did here. Thanks, – OhioStandard (talk) 23:13, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
- He is entitled to only !vote for those he supports, you know. --Elen of the Roads (talk) 23:17, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
- I usually don't get involved in rfa's that I would oppose, I have been Neutral on a few. --Inka888 00:25, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. The "talkback" wasn't necessary, btw: when you entered edit mode on my talk page you would have been presented with an "attention" message saying so. – OhioStandard (talk) 03:59, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sure he is, Elen. But to be perfectly candid, I'm just very uneasy that Inka seems so very focused on all things admin. I'm thinking of the out-of-the-gate userbox "This user isn't an admin, but acts like one", the hugely persistent and very disruptive push for rollback, his attempt to close an RfA, his having !voted in roughly 20 RfA's for users he's probably not familiar with, without a single oppose and nothing like enough time on most or all (imo, based on the timing of his edits) to familiarize himself with an unknown candidate's background sufficiently before !voting. The single word "Sure" !votes, after only a three-minute look into someone's history, in some cases, don't inspire me with confidence, either.
- And more generally, I have to question how qualified someone with so short a history is to evaluate whether an unfamiliar user will make a sound admin. I know Inka is allowed to do most or all of these things he has, but why so compelling an interest, and why start !voting so much in RfA's after being here for little over a month? It's all just a bit troubling to me, and I was wondering whether all the "support" !votes could possibly be motivated by a sort of vicarious wish-fulfillment thing. Sorry, Inka, I don't like criticizing you or anyone else, and I do think your wish to help with the infrastructure here is commendable. No one would be more pleased than I to see you eventually meet the standards for adminship. I just think both you and the project might be better served by taking your eyes off that prize for a while. Best, – OhioStandard (talk) 03:59, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- I never entered edit mode on your talk page I use "easy talkback", I also have been here for over two months I got here on July, 17, 2010 My time July, 18, 2010 UTC time. Before I vote on a rfa I read the questions for the candidate, and check their edit count, and take a look at their recent activity; I'm allowed to !vote in rfa's and I'm entitled to my opinion. Regards, --Inka888 18:29, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

- Article contains a fully completed and wikilinked taxobox, and the single sentence †Heterosubulitidae is an extinct taxonomic family of sea snails, marine opisthobranch gastropod mollusks in the informal group Lower Heterobranchia. While I sympathise that most of the wording in this very short article is taxonomic, why is it lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article, which is plainly some kind of extinct sea snail? This was something of a trick question, which was why I asked whether you would tag it. Project Gastropod have added around 15,000 similar articles (although in fairness to them, they do use a reference, which I stripped out of this one). Perhaps reading WP:STUB would help - very short articles are allowed on Wikipedia, provided you can work out what they are about.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 15:25, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

This page: User:Intelati/test/1 has been left in a bad state and has not been fixed yet. Intelati has left it as an assignment and I provided instructions on how to fix it. This test is important because it needs navigation through history and comparison of revisions to fix it, as well as careful reading of the text and critical thinking. If Inka is to be trusted with reverting all forms of vandalism and not only the simplest forms, he should IMO successfully complete this vandalism-elimination/correction test. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 16:44, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

That's one mistake. But also you have to fix the infobox. Look how it looked when Intelati created the page: [2].Dr.K. λogosπraxis 00:01, 29 September 2010 (UTC)- Look at the infobox: Her age is 15. How can she be in a category: "deceased people"? Dr.K. λogosπraxis 00:02, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

{{Userbox
|id = this is what shows up on the left side
|info = this is what shows up on the right side
|id-c = the background color of the left side
|info-c the background color of the right side
}}
For example:
{{Userbox
|id = [[File:Cheese.png|70px]]
|info = Cheese is good.
|id-c = orange
|info-c = red
}}
will look like this:

Link Rot
It's fine right now, check back in a month, then the link rot might be a problem--Talktome(Intelati) 02:49, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- If you put {{linkrot}} on the page it would say bare URL's as references which appears to be relevant now. --Inka888 02:59, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Rollback
Would you use rollback if the edits were questionable? I.e. not exactly vandalism, but also not exactly constructive.--Talktome(Intelati) 05:35, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- Depends on the case in a very rare situation where a page got badly messed up by multiple edits I might. In almost every case I would use the undo or manually revert. --Inka888 16:53, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- That exactly right. :)--Talktome(Intelati) 16:54, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

I like a smaller Archive, so things are easy to find, but ultimately it is your choice. the 445k is a fine compromise, but I wouldn't go any bigger than that. Thanks.--Talktome(Intelati) 21:48, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

You just set your max archive size to 850K. That's probably a bad idea, because long pages like that cause Internet Explorer to crash. Access Denied [FATAL ERROR] 03:43, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

- 100K is already pretty long; that's past 80 average-length sections. It's not the browser that's the issue, it's the Internet speed. Yes, IE sucks, but if your page is just 200KB, it would take many users 10 minutes or more to load. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 21:08, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Rollback
Hello, per your request, I've granted you Rollback rights! Just remember:
- Rollback gives you access to certain scripts, including Huggle and Igloo, some of which can be very powerful, so exercise caution
- Rollback is only for blatant vandalism
- Having Rollback rights does not give you any special status or authority
- Misuse of Rollback can lead to its removal by any administrator
- Please read Help:Reverting and Wikipedia:Rollback feature to get to know the workings of the feature
- You can test Rollback at Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback
- You may wish to display the {{User wikipedia/rollback}} userbox and/or the {{Rollback}} top icon on your user page
- If you have any questions, please do let me know.

WP:BLP Violations
User:Intelati/test/2 --Talktome(Intelati) 22:39, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- The death section had vandalism in it. --Inka888Come yell at me! 00:03, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- Intelati, do not use articles on real subjects to practice on. BLP violations, for testing or not, should exist nowhere, not in userspace or anywhere else. You'll have to make fake articles. Also, when copying content within Wikipedia, you need to attribute it per the terms of the CC-BY-SA. This can be done via a comment in the edit summary, where it will be visible in the history, or you can add a note to the article itself saying where the content came from. See this page for more. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 00:19, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know that much about WP:BLP. I thought it was vandalism to a page about a living person, usually saying something defaming to that person. Inka888Come yell at me! 21:18, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- A typical vandal tactic is to add false information that a living person died. Obviously there will not be a citation to this wrong information. A helpful IP sometimes will come along and remove the false death claim. So if you see death claims without citation you should be aware of possible vandalism. Preferably perform a Google search to verify that the person may still be alive. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 21:43, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- Shouldn't I just revert it it? I think it says to do so at WP:BLP to all unsourced claims and rumors on pages about living people. --Inka888Come yell at me! 22:34, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- Absolutely. First you automatically revert the uncited death claim and then, if you want to make sure, Google anyway just to see if you can find any reliable citation just in case. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 22:48, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Leaving Warning templates
When you leave a warning template (even though it's not required or anything) please consider using the style that references a specific article as in this Unsourced edit welcome... subst:uw-unsourced1|article. You left some Warnings without the article-names recently (for instance, at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:199.8.222.105 & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:99.227.180.51). Leaving a Notice/Warning+article-name makes it easier for other editors to follow-up on particular edits and also reminds the errant editor exactly where they have made their mistakes. Just a thought, Shearonink (talk) 14:55, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't use huggle or any tool like that so I have to type the page name in manually. --Inka888Come yell at me! 03:37, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's not so bad having to type the name in manually. I don't use Huggle either, so that's what I do. Because I like to be make sure the Warning fits the edit, I usually even go to Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace and manually pick out the appropriate Warning for the test/vandal/joke/whatever edit. Shearonink (talk) 10:22, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- I usually would do type in the name manually. When there is a lot of vandalism and very few vandal fighters, I would not do it because it takes more time. --Inka888Come yell at me! 18:06, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Questions
First, service awards are awards that you give yourself for your contributions. don't focus on them as they are just for fun. :)
Second, Huggle is often faster than plain roll back becuse you can see the diff without switching windows. other than that, the only differences between that and the recent changes, is that Huggle warns the person, and the edits are automatically updated.--Talktome(Intelati) 01:34, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- I was just wondering about the service awards because I was unclear as to how they worked. Inka888Come yell at me! 02:41, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) You can find your total number of contributions here: [4] and you can find the appropriate service award by going here: [5] - your current level is 3 (Journeyman Editor), which you can find the templates for here: (Journeyman)[6]. Other awards are generally added by other editors, usually to your talk page, at which point you can decide whether you want to copy them to your user page or not.
- If you take a look at my user page (and hit edit) you can see my various userboxes for how I've used the stuff - but I am pretty sure you are familiar with how to do that (you may find a few other userboxes you are interested in though, such as the edit count userbox - which is used like this: {{User contrib|2111|Inka 888}} - with the "2111" being changed as your edit count increases (that's your current edit count, btw)). You have to manually update/change the service level award as your edit count increases (just as you would have to update the edit counter userbox).
- Your next level will be reached when you have 4,000+ edits and one or more years of having a registered account.
- Hope that helps. Best, Robert ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 03:41, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User Inka 888/5,000 edits
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I am wondering what you were trying to do here. If you were trying to make a userbox for an edit count, that has already been done for you. You can add the following userbox code to you page and keep an active edit count. {{user contrib|2259|Inka 888}} The "2259" is your current edit count. I normally go in hundreds, some go in thousands, so you don't have to update it daily or hourly, but that is up to you. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 05:06, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

- Probably not, especially if you create yourself a WP:HASHKEY. That way, if someone hacks the account, you can verify that you are Inka and they are not. Admins tend to have second accounts for cybercafes, hotel internets and iPhones, so there's no risk of someone hacking the account with the tools. --Elen of the Roads (talk) 22:53, 10 October 2010 (UTC) That's Template:User committed identity. Speedy deletion declined: Fermentelos
Hello Inka 888. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Fermentelos, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:21, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- this is all it said in the article when I saw it. I noticed the user added a bit to it after I tagged it. I said A1 because there was nothing to back up what s/he said. If you look at "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh" that is the example of A1 at WP:SD; how is what that user wrote different? Inka888ContribsTalk 02:28, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's a super-stub, but it does identify the subject ("Fermentelos is a town in Portugal.") If you don't think the town is notable, I guess you can try PROD or an AfD. I'm not even sure whether we have notability guidelines for cities and towns. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:36, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- (Came across this from TigreTiger's talkpage) I've been on NPP tonight; even if there's no actual policy violation here, it's making our job tremendously difficult. It's flooding Special:NewPages, and making it very hard to properly patrol everything. As far as I know, towns and cities are inherently notable, but if you ask me, mass creating sub-stubs like this (I've seen it a few times before, from far more experienced users) borders on disruptive. I apologize for moving the discussion. If you were looking for information about a place, and you looked it up on Wikipedia would you like to read and article with five words in it (three of them being articles}? I looked at WP:SD, and there was an example of A1 which was "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh." How is that any different than "Fermentelos is a town in Portugal."? Inka888ContribsTalk 19:57, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's a little different. The information provided is factual (or presumed to be so - which is easily verifiable with a simple web search) and explains one of the most important parameters of a city (where it is). That makes it a valid stub. Your example, OTOH, is POV (first part) and hard to verify (second part). Totally different scenarios. See my note on BWilken's talk page for more (sorry about that B... feel free to move the comment here if you like - didnt find this discussion till after I left the comment). Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 20:01, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- No issues Robert, TPS's are good :-). Inka ... check this stub. What's really different from what Tigre created? Your job as an editor is to edit - and knowing that towns are inherently notable, would it have killed you to add a half of a sentence? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 20:16, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- I not that different. In the future I'll tag articles for expansion if they are really small. Inka888ContribsTalk 21:52, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

- WP:DEFACTO: 99.9% of all articles about populated cities/towns/etc., fully professional athletes, and species are kept, stub or not. I strongly advise you to withdraw your AfD nomination and be much more judicious in your CSD work. "Too short" is not a valid rationale when the article establishes the subject and context. Considering that you are still being mentored, I hope that you will read, re-read, and re-read a second time, the relevant policy. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 05:03, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion: Lesson #1
Ok, I'm going to start with the simplest: G1, G3, and G10.
G1
Patent nonsense. There are 2 types:
1. Random banging on the keyboard like this:
r67tbg9wn4 tg2wn9596g5t8959ntwv5m098b3w5t lololol n5 tr 8tojjhai der
2. Random words that make no sense together. like this:
Salas eat monkey poo that banana have lol Mario hi there bobjoe how is my puppy
G3
Pure vandalism like these:
I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks. I suck cocks.
or blatant hoaxes:
I live inside mount everest and kill people on who like pie.
G10
Attack pages Admins watch the "attack pages" category and will often delete them in seconds. Examples:
johnny is a gay faggot
Or this:
sammy the stupid was born in 37857887275 B.C. and then went through three sex changes and then raped himself and died. The end.
That's all for lesson 1.
Your assignment

I'm not sure why you've done what you have with the WSPA page. It'd be great if you would join the project so you could do a lot of productive stuff. I blanked a page that because it was redundant. Account creation Process
Sometimes when a IP range is blocked, some people may be unable to create accounts. So, a person sends out an email to the account creation people and they decide if creating the account is proper. I have created 5 accounts. To create accounts, you have to ... See what Fetchcomms wrote.--TalkToMecintelati 02:52, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, it's more like people who can't read the captcha, not just rangeblocked IPs. More of those requests go to the unblock-l mailing list, but some go to through ACC (and that's why we have CUs there). /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 22:13, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Popups
If you have "Navigation popups, article previews and editing functions popup when hovering over links" enabled, and are on your watchlist, you can hover over the "diff" button. the Popup will, pop up and there is an "action" button. Block template substitution
[7] It does make a difference. Per Templates that should not be substituted, "templates shall not be substituted that (a) contain calls to ParserFunctions (#if, #switch, etc.), unless, where possible, these are substituted too". Template:Blocked user uses ParserFunctions. It's also unnecessary to put so many characters there when you can simply use {{blocked user|historical}}
. Goodvac (talk) 04:49, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) On top of that, I can add that "does not make a difference" is not a valid reason to revert. If it doesn't make any difference, the current look can be kept. Reviewing
Reviewing acticles in the Special:OldReviewedPages is a very controversial idea by the Wikimedia foundation. The idea, is that the IP's can still edit articles, but the vandalism is weeded out by trusted users like you and me. To review a edit is simple, you hit the link to the Special page, and hit the "(review)" link. you then either hit the Accept button which allows other users to see the edits. Or you can revert it. Be careful though, make sure the usage of words fit's the article, make sure all of the pending edits are free from vandilism Etc. These are all things I have done. Just be careful. :)
Any Questions? --intelatitalk 23:24, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- And on a general note, if you aren't sure what to do, just ask someone else that would know what to do. Thanks.--intelatitalk 23:26, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- 3 questions
- What about the pages that are PC protected and show up in recent changes with a pending changes tag?
- Does hitting accept automatically make the revision visible to everyone?
- What does the unaccept button do?
- They will show up with a yellow bar that says "Pending Changes"
- Yes
- If you see a botched review, just hit unaccept and undo the change.--intelatitalk 05:07, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. Inka888 22:50, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
You undid the blanking of this article, and I reverted: it was blanked by the only author of the article, and the appropriate course of action is to place a db-author tag on it (CSD G7). Thanks, Drmies (talk) 22:10, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- The author never clearly requested deletion. Inka888 22:12, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- No, but you can't expect a new editor to know those kinds of ins and outs. Please see Wikipedia:CSD_G7#G7. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 22:15, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll keep that in mind. Inka888 22:17, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's one of those things where an act by a relatively new editor is interpreted in a certain way. Sometimes users get frustrated by the process (like if they keep adding unverified BLP stuff, for instance) and they see no other way to get out of it, which is probably what happened here. Now, we can keep reversing and then warning them for blanking/vandalism, and the frustration escalates, and before you know it they're blocked. There's little purpose in that; I'm sure you've seen how quickly someone can get to level 4. I guess in order to prevent such escalations, the G7 guideline asks us to interpret that kind of blanking as "author's request to delete" (unless other editors of course have contributed significantly). Thanks, Drmies (talk) 03:12, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

PROD
PROposed Deletions are for when a article doesn't meet any of the CSD criteria, but the nominator thinks that no other editor would contest the deletion.
Today there are two types of PROD's. The "Sticky PROD" for Unsourced BLP's and the Regular PROD, where the editor writes in their "reason".
Pretty simple. Any Questions?--intelatitalk 03:47, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Huggle and Igloo
What do you think is better:Huggle or Igloo? WAYNEOLAJUWON 22:48, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm waiting for a new version of huggle to come out and I'll try it again then. It was messing up on me before. I like Igloo because I do more than just vandal fighting in a day and it is a simpler tool to work with for short periods of time. When there is a lot of vandalism I usually will use huggle. Inka888 22:51, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- It depends on how much vandalism there is out there on the time you get on to see which one you will use. Huggle is faster than Igloo, in my opinion, but many ex-Huggle users have permanently went to Igloo. WAYNEOLAJUWON 23:18, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Chosen people
Hello! I have a question for you: I noticed that you restored the content of a section dedicated to Islam in the article called Chosen people. I was checking the history of the article and I noticed a version which was overtly propagandistic and written from a islamic point of view, something wikipedia cannot tolerate. Fortunately the section had been removed by an IP user. So I was wondering why did you restore that awful section? Thanks for reading.--Knight1993 (talk) 16:33, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Because the IP didn't just blank the section. What was there was better than jajajaja. Inka888 17:57, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Also, it looks like it was fixed by another IP. Inka888 21:59, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Editing ANI posts and labelling editors as vandals
This edit - [8] - was GROSSLY inappropiate. You changed another editors post with no good reason and labelled another editor as a vandal without justification, then compounded the error by marking it as a minor edit. Please don't do this again. Exxolon (talk) 09:04, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- It's just a template. It is easier to examine the editors edits with that template in place. Inka888 22:57, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- There are a whole bunch of alternative templates at Template:Vandal that have more information all with the "user" prefix - please use one of those instead. That avoids labelling an editor as a vandal - only obvious vandals/vandalism should have vandal templates attached.
- Editing another editors posts is generally never a good idea without a damn good reason - if you are going to do it, make sure you post underneath indicating the edit you've performed so it's clear who is responsible for which text without having to go digging through the edit summary. I ended up falsely accusing the original poster of the comment you edited as labelling the other editor as a vandal without justification and I had to apologise for that because of your action. Exxolon (talk) 23:47, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) (edit conflict) Inka888, the only thing that needs to be done for others to quickly examine an editor's edits is put Rjbronn (talk · contribs). Thanks for helping close the premature RFA. I left Core2012 a little longer message on his talk page. I didn't strike yours, just felt a little more might help. Dusti*poke* 08:53, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ok. That was better than what I left on his page. Inka888 23:48, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Your RfA
Hello Inka 888, I'm sorry I just closed your RfA per WP:SNOW, because I don't think you'd have passed, at this time, given the rationales indicated by the opposers and wanted to spare you the bitter, stinging experience an Rfa can be; if you want your RfA to run for the entire week, however, you're of course entitled to revert my closure!
Please, remember you're a valuable Wikipedian and your contributions are much appreciated; do try again, when you have garnered a bit more experience and when you've tackled all the issue highlighted by the opposers. See you around! Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:56, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- I would of withdrew when I got back online. Thank you for closing. Inka888 20:40, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
