I'm not clear about how to use/set up disambiguation pages. I have added a page on Richards Harmer "Dix" Jarden - a person.

In the Wikipedia Search box, if I type "Jarden" the only result I get is for "Jarden Corporation"

What needs to be done to have both Jarden,Richards Harmer and Jarden Corporation show up with links on one page?

Thanks

User:Stwalkerster has added a hatnote to Jarden using {{otheruses4}}. That's the usual way of disambiguating when one article's topic is clearly more important than the other's. If that's not the case here, you could move Jarden to Jarden Corporation and create a disambiguation page with the title Jarden. Algebraist 14:35, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi! I have added a hatnote to the article, which should give users some direction. Sorry I took so long in saying this - my computer crashed when I was trying to import a 240MB file into a program. :) Stwalkerstertalk ] 14:44, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I deleted that article because no claim of notability was made for his business career - the article simply stated that he runs a company, which I don't think is anywhere near enough to meet the requirements of WP:BIO - note that significant and independent secondary sources which prove that the person is notable are needed. I have no problem with you recreating the article if you can find such sources. If you'd like to create a personal 'sandbox' by following the instructions at Wikipedia:User page#How_do_I_create_a_user_subpage.3F I'd be happy to move the last version of the article there so you can work on it before uploading it back into the encyclopedia. --Nick Dowling (talk) 09:03, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks - I created a Sandbox page so if you could move the article there for further work. I will be happy to do further research.

Unfortunately the industry he is in is terrible at doing much with the internet - even the two online articles I did find were moved to a password-protected section in the trade association's website right after I listed them in the article.

Assuming that research is completed, do you think the World War II references need to be rewritten or eliminated?

Thanks for your help.

OK, I've posted it on your sandbox. You shouldn't include references which don't mention the subject of the article in detail. Such references don't need to be online, but they do need to provide in-depth coverage of the person for him to meet Wikipedia's notability standards. Note that as Mr Jarden is alive the policy Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons applies and requires a very high standard of referencing. --Nick Dowling (talk) 21:56, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
