Interview with Wikimedia Foundation
Hi Invertzoo, I hope you're well. My name is Aaron and I'm one of the Storytellers working on the 2011 fundraiser for the Wikimedia Foundation. For this year's campaign, we're interviewing as many of the very active and productive Wikipedians as we can to broaden the range of appeals we run come November. I wonder if you would want to tell me more about your experiences editing and writing here? If so, I'll ask you your personal story and I'll ask you some general questions about Wikipedia. Please let me know if you're interesting by emailing amuszalski wikimedia.org. Thanks! Aaron (WMF) (talk) 00:50, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- I just wanted to say that I hope this is something you feel comfortable doing. :) This is not a cold call, as they say. I recommended you heartily for this, as I believe you have interesting stories to tell. --User:Moonriddengirl, aka Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 19:23, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- I am so happy that you are taking them up on it. :) They are all delightful, and they work together, so I think you need have no fear of causing issues by talking to more than one. I can't wait to hear how your interview goes. --Maggie Dennis (WMF)(talk) 19:58, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- That is very nice to hear, because it is mutual. :) --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 20:22, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for updating me. They're good at what they do, so we'll see what they may be able to come up with. :) --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 14:37, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Uploading macro photos of shells - on the "photo needed list"
Invertzoo,
I would like to be useful ... and although I am a "newbie" to WikiProject Gastropods, I feel that I can be a benefit - at least in photographing and uploading photos of shells. I tried and found that I need an authorization on line to do so. Although I am a busy professional like you and many others, this is my hobby and I care quite a bit about it and find time to try to enjoy it. I look forward to helping as I can. Colours
Hello Susan. How's the knee?
I've added a few more possibles for the shell navboxhere. Still not so good. I'll make you a deal. You pick foreground and background here, and I'll add them to the navbox. Just copy paste the #hexnumber here and I will do the rest.
I toned down the colours at the gastropod external links page here. I'm surprised nobody went blind with the old colours. I was shocked at my choices. I can't believe the colours I selected. I think, at the time, that I picked the colours from a rather limited list. Now they are, although not exactly lovely, better than before. Hmmmm, avocado. I know I can do better. :) Best, Anna Frodesiak(talk) 13:58, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks so much Anna! I liked the last version you made, which was 2 fairly rich shades of yellow, so I put those colors into the template itself. However I preferred the old sea shells image, so I put that in, but now that image is "floating" in its space in the middle of the template rather than filling the space completely. I can't remember how to trim the width of the template, and I also don't know how to make the image fill the space it is sitting in. Do you know how? Thanks. Oh and thanks for asking: my knee is not doing well: the first two "therapy" sessions last week kind of messed it up pretty badly so it is very painful and swollen a lot more than it was. Oh also thanks for toning down the colors at the Links page. I think it looks fine now. Actually I don't suppose many people look at that page, which is a shame because it is quite useful. How are you doing?
I have not heard from you lately, and with the talk of doctors and appointments I am concerned. Form one gastropod friend to another: are you going alright? Best wishes. Shellnut (talk) 18:50, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

Hello and good morning.
Hi Invertzoo! I have taken a stab at a complete rewrite of the descriptions and distribution sections of my two similar Calliostoma species, Calliostoma palmeri andCalliostoma bonita and would appreciate your input when you get a chance. Best of luck with the knee (I empathize) and I hope all is well. Shellnut (talk) 18:03, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
