Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Maeda Atsuko.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Maeda Atsuko.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
HTML
editIf it doesn't fit, then you're probably trying to cram too much information into too small a space. Instead of having the left column be 50%, try making it, say, only 40%. You have to do a little playing around to get things to fit right, usually, and be aware that the user's browser might not even render things the same way at all (if, for example, they have the font enlarged because they can't see well). Good HTML design tries not to be too constraining or to rely on one particular set of settings for it to work.
As for height -- setting height percentages often gives really unpredictable results because different browsers consider "100%" to mean a different thing. I usually don't set it — your height will be determined by the content most of the time. If you have to tables side-by-side that end up getting centered in funny ways, set the VALIGN property of the TD they are in to TOP and they'll usually look a bit better. I edited the sandbox to show you what I meant in the above. --24.147.86.187 (talk) 15:25, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
undo changes for Josef Beck
editYou ask for proof... what proof do you have for adding "of Jewish descent"? There is no proof because its not true. From the research done by various family members, there is some evidence that the original Becks emigrated from Flanders during the reign of Stefan Batory (late 1500) to Gdansk. Eventually, they settled in Limanowa, Poland in the late 1800's. During this time, they were certainly Roman Catholic. I will undo you addition because you are adding information that has not been substantiated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Leoandeloise (talk • contribs) 02:20, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

editI have tagged Image:Ishibashi.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 00:17, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

editI have tagged Image:Minegishi_Minami.jpg as {{replaceable fair use}}. If you wish to dispute this assertion, please add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}} to the image description page and a comment explaining your reasoning to the the image talk page. Rettetast (talk) 19:27, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Rika's Kazahana
editI just want to make sure which publisher is correct since I got "Kids Net" from Amazon (出版社: キッズネット (2008/02)) and this scan from the book that I found on Hello! Online. ☆CharlesNguyễn 05:21, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, I think you have a point. Looks like the folks who edited the Japanese Wikipedia weren't looking at 'hakkou' but rather at 'hatsubai'. Thanks for pointing this out. -- Ishikawa Minoru (talk) 12:08, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: Simplified Nihongo?!
editSorry about that, I was in a bit of a rush since I was editing in class :O and I wasn't sure of what the actual names really were and where they were referred to as such. I was just following Jawiki and the PB covers. "1stソロ写真集" also just seems to me like a description of the book. I completely agree with you about how it looked better before though, so I wouldn't mind of you partially revert my edit. ☆CharlesNguyễn 20:33, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Nicely done!

your comments on shanghai talk page...
editits so obvious that you would take the japanese side LOL, since you are japanese from your username.... next times if your going to come u with some crap on how fake nanking is, create a non japanese username...... just a little advice when trying to genuinly lie to people and come up with crap just like you with your mom/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by RestoreTheEmpireSociety (talk • contribs) 21:16, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Aren't you Chinese yourself? It can therefore be assumed you'd take the Chinese side of things, don't you agree? At any rate, I made that edit a very long time ago and am no longer interested in discussing the subject. But, if you're referring to the picture of the baby at Shanghai station, I do know for a fact it is a forgery. If memory serves me correctly I mentioned a French documentary which actually shows the photographer placing the boy on the tracks. Whether you want to watch it or not, it is none of my business. -- Ishikawa Minoru (talk) 22:22, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
japanese people are a very primitive people, all japanese writing systems are derived from chinese or the roman alphabet, being unable given the inferiority of the japanese brain to create their own alphabet.RestoreTheEmpireSociety (talk) 02:58, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- You truly are clueless aren't you? You need look at Taiwan under Japanese rule to realize just how nonsensical your comments are: chinese people were addicted to opium and allowed such barbaric practices as foot binding to take place. Hadn't it been for us, they'd have continued their warped lifestyle. Not just that, it's not an exaggeration to say Taiwan and Korea's infrastuctures (mostly roads and powerplants) were built by the Japanese.
- china isn't fit to be a world power...living conditions are miserable. Just look at how poor response to the Sichuan Earthquake was. It's hard even to imagine how china thought they could host the 2008 olympics...how can you host such a prestigious event in a polluted, underdeveloped city like Beijing? -- Ishikawa Minoru (talk) 14:04, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Japanese people are currently addicted to hentai, japanese porn, prostitutes, AV stars, and pornographic videos.... these account for 50% of japan's GDP, and you didnt respond to my comment... you just brought another subject up. LOL, what poor response? only japanese media criticized china's response to the earthquake. japanese barbaric practices include- having sex in the streets, mass producing love dolls for men to have sex with, and selling porn over the internet.
japanese didn't even have eating utensils until the chinese brought chopsticks to japan! your ancestors must have ate with their hands without washing them!RestoreTheEmpireSociety (talk) 16:18, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's a lie. According to Wikipedia those account to around 1% of the GDP, not 50%. Even if they did, what is wrong with AV, fuzoku, etc? Pornography is produced in the US, UE, Russia, everyone! People enjoy it, because people have a need to engage in sexual acts and watch them. Poor countries like China sell unauthorized versions of Japanese AV, so why are you so against it? Don't bite the hand that feeds you! Otherwise, where would you find game consoles to pirate? God forbid we lose the polystation! Or other worthless inventions such as the EVD, which really went nowhere.
- Not just Japanese media. In fact, I'm not even Japanese, you know? I'm Portuguese!! So, while my ancestors (and indeed everyone's ancestors may have eaten with their hands without even having washed them, they most certainly weren't Japanese!
- As for Kanji, sure, the Japanese adopted the Chinese writing system. No one is disputing that. When it comes to chopsticks, though, recent archaeological excavations unearthed tools resembling chopsticks in Meggido, Israel, so it's not unqiue to China and other Asian countries, but also at least one in the Middle East. -- Ishikawa Minoru (talk) 16:35, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
LOL, earlier you said" hadn't it been for us", and then you claim your portugese! therefore everything you say is a lie, and i am free to revert all changes you made since you lied...RestoreTheEmpireSociety (talk) 18:08, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Don't you realize I've been playing you all along? You simply assumed I was Japanese based on my username, but the truth is I am not. I'll be living in Japan very soon and have a Japanese girlfriend, but I was born in Portugal.
- If you go over my list of contributions you'll see I'm not here to advance my point of view. I don't think the picture of the baby is real, that's true, but I'm not disputing that there were killings or anything like that. No, all I care for is information. If you can properly source your claims, I won't oppose you.
- There are issues I'm more familiar with than others but deep down an article dealing with Perfect numbers or an article about Turkey are the same to me: information.
- Propaganda films aren't reliable sources. Anyone would agree with that, because propaganda is meant to glorify a regime and its leaders. Just try to use reliable sources and refrain from ad hominem attacks. Whether the Japanese watch porn or not, it's irrelevant when it comes to WWII. -- Ishikawa Minoru (talk) 18:20, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
I suggest we start with a copy of the current Main Page, called Wikipedia:2008 main page redesign proposal/Main Page Draft, and through edits and discussion transform it via consensus into the new Main Page that will be proposed to the community for final approval. Competitions won't work (we tried that last time), because submissions that are only slightly different from each other will divide the vote between them which will drive their basic common design out of the competition, obscuring its support as well as support for particular design elements. Each new design element or change needs to be discussed on the talk page of the community-developed draft, to arrive at a consensus for each as to whether it should be included or not, and what each design element should look like. We need to literally get on the same page and integrate the best features of all those wonderful designs that have been submitted. Let the edit wars editing and discussion begin! :) The Transhumanist 01:23, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Takahashi_Minami.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Takahashi_Minami.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 20:47, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Your user and talk pages
editHi Ishikawa, I have just restored the 2006 page history of your user talk page, since user talk pages should almost never be deleted. Hope you don't mind. Graham87 02:47, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Children Who Don't Know War
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Children Who Don't Know War requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article does not exist or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. DrStrauss talk 14:30, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
The article Children Who Don't Know War has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:NSONG. Artists don't have an article themselves. Insufficient coverage to satisfy WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DrStrauss talk 18:12, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Meet Me until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
