List of twin towns and sister cities in Malaysia

edit

Regarding your edit on this article, please do not change it into a table format for the "Malacca section" since every cities on the article have been using colon list and it is considered as against WP:MOS per other sister cities articles. Thank you. Molecule Extraction (talk) 13:08, 2 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Why did you change the already properly format citation into a huge barelink? Also please read WP:OVERCITE and put the country order by alphabet when adding new cities. Molecule Extraction (talk) 06:29, 3 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Malaysia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Molecule Extraction (talk) 07:00, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Vanamonde (talk) 12:39, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Why block me? Can't give chance. You can leave talk what I did wrong, so that I can correct it before straightly go blocking. That is harsh.

Request reason:

I just want to help to promote my country and my state, I'm not a spammer and never intended to use Wikipedia for advertising, I have no affiliation to any of that business at all. I just want to give information to tourist more about my country and state. I swear in the name of God. Islam Al-Behairy (talk) 04:05, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You state that you are here to promote your "country and state". Your edits support this idea. Wikipedia is not for any promotional purpose and is not a tourist guide. To be unblocked, you will need to indicate how and what you will edit without being promotional. I am declining this request. 331dot (talk) 07:30, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@Islam Al-Behairy: That is why it is important you need to read the policy and guidelines first before contributing into this encyclopaedia. Aside from several of your contribution that was seen as against WP:PROMOTION... I have read your talkpage in another Wikipedia in Malay language and the administrator there too have repeatedly warned you for several issues that against Wikipedia policy but it seems you continue to create another problem rather than discussing. I have leaving a welcoming message of policy guidelines and notification on your talkpage in this English Wikipedia too but all of this seems to falling into a deaf ear without any response nor reply. No one tried to be harsh here but that is what happen when you continue to ignore what other administrator/patroller/reviewer have remind you. Molecule Extraction (talk) 04:25, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Islam Al-behairy, as the administrator who blocked you, I am going to leave your request for somebody else to consider, but here's some advice. Molecule extraction is quite correct; if you want to edit here, you need to follow our policy on neutrality, and to keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a means of promotion. Your statement that you "want to help to promote my country and my state" is contrary to Wikipedia's purpose, and is not going to help you get unblocked. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Procedures

edit

Edits like this are totally unacceptable:

  • Text like "Some netizens claim" fails WP:WEASEL and any common sense view of what an encyclopedic article should look like.
  • An article is not a place for an editor to prosecute a case with debating-style bullet points using sources that fail WP:RS.
  • An edit summary with "Are you a gay?" indicates a lack of suitability for a collaborative project and is an absurd attack.

Try a noticeboard such as WP:RSN or WP:BLPN to determine whether there is support for your proposed text. Johnuniq (talk) 00:18, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Anwar Ibrahim sodomy trials into Anwar Ibrahim. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:57, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Does it sounds like promotion? I think, it can attract investors to invest in Malaysia.

Statement in Singapore's wiki: Singapore is a global hub for education,[10] entertainment,[11] finance, healthcare,[12] human capital,[13] innovation,[14] logistics,[15] manufacturing,[16] technology,[17] tourism,[18] trade, and transport.[19] The city ranks highly in numerous international rankings, and has been recognized as the most "technology-ready" nation (WEF), top International-meetings city (UIA),[20][21] city with "best investment potential" (BERI), world's smartest city,[22] world's safest country,[23][24] second-most competitive country, third-largest foreign exchange market, third-largest financial centre, third-largest oil refining and trading centre, fifth-most innovative country, and the second-busiest container port.[25] The Economist has ranked Singapore as the most expensive city to live in, since 2013.[26] It is identified as a tax haven. Singapore is the only country in Asia with an AAA sovereign rating from all major rating agencies, and one of 11 worldwide. Globally, the Port of Singapore and Changi Airport have held the titles of leading "Maritime Capital" and "Best Airport" respectively for consecutive years, while Singapore Airlines is the 2018 "World's Best Airline".[27][28]

Singapore ranks 9th on the UN Human Development Index with the 3rd highest GDP per capita. It is placed highly in key social indicators: education, healthcare, life expectancy, quality of life, personal safety and housing. Although income inequality is high, 90% of homes are owner-occupied. According to the Democracy Index, the country is described as a "flawed democracy". The Singaporean passport is joint first with Japan for visa-free travel granted by the most countries to its citizens.[29] Islam Al-Behairy (talk) 05:28, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Already replied in my talkpage. Again, your statement saying that "can attract investors to invest in Malaysia" already describing your promotional intention. Molecule Extraction (talk) 05:32, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of International rankings of Malacca

edit

The article International rankings of Malacca has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

random list of publications that have included Malacca in a list. Some may be appropriate in the article on Malacca but none belong in a standalone encyclopaedia entry.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 17:24, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Recent edit reversion

edit

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.S Philbrick(Talk) 13:24, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
