Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Category:Lakes of Morocco, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. Mason (talk) 03:46, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for the mistake. I am still learning and will try harder. Thanks for the helpful message. Isoceles-sai (talk) 17:02, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
However could you explain what was wrong with my category edits? Isoceles-sai (talk) 17:07, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Mostly, you added categories that were higher up in the tree. For example there was no need to add Category:Morocco to Lakes of Morocco because it was already in Bodies of water of Morocco, which is more speicific. I recommend reading more about WP:Diffusion.Mason (talk) 20:21, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, that seems obvious now that you point it out. Isoceles-sai (talk) 10:05, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sure thing! Categorization takes a while to get a handle of. Everybody has to start somewhere :) Mason (talk) 11:30, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please don't make categories for a single page. In this case, the one page you added was a scholar of "Jewish" philosophy, not Israeli philosophy. I strongly recommend that you look at how other similar categories are populated and organized. Mason (talk) 20:38, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I can see why a single page category is not good practice, but my thinking was that it would improve the category structure and that it was likely that there would be quite a few candidate articles to be added to the new category.
I will try to find some more articles to add to the category, but I would agree to deleting the category. Isoceles-sai (talk) 10:10, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Totally makes sense. I agree that it could be beneficial, if there's enough content that can be added. Mason (talk) 11:33, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
