Question from Nubeno2828 (11:33, 5 September 2021)
Hello , May I know what happens when the article is made as draft . --Nubeno2828 (talk) 11:33, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Nubeno2828 when an article is made as a draft, you can incubate it in your own time and then "submit" it for review. An experienced editor will look over and either accept or decline the draft, and provide feedback. See Wikipedia:Drafts for more information. — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 11:35, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
How can I give the draft for review? Nubeno2828 (talk) 11:39, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Nubeno2828 add
{{subst:submit}}
to the top of the page. If you want I can do it for you? — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 11:41, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Yes please , would you do it for me .

Reply-link officially superseded by DiscussionTools
Hi! Reply-link has officially been superseded by mw:DiscussionTools, which you can install using the "Discussion tools" checkbox under Preferences → Beta features. DiscussionTools, developed by the WMF's Editing Team, is faster and has more features than reply-link, and it wouldn't make sense for me to keep developing reply-link. I think the Editing Team is doing amazing work, and look forward to what they can do in the future. Thank you for using reply-link over the years! Enterprisey (talk!) 06:11, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for uploading File:Bangor University.svg. There is a problem with how Wikipedia renders this file in the Bangor University article: the final letter 'L' of the word 'PRIFYSGOL' is not displayed. This letter is shown in the original file link,[1] but it is omitted in the PNG previews on the file page. I am unfamiliar with the details of SVG syntax, but this might be a problem with the Wikipedia rendering software. Should we ask about this at Wikipedia:SVG help? Verbcatcher (talk) 21:11, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- Verbcatcher thanks for spotting that. Alas, lnother LibrSVG (MediaWiki's SVG to PNG rendering library) bug it seems. It's probably something to do with masks; I'll try to check it later. If not the SVG Help for is appropriate 😁 — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 05:50, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Verbcatcher after some manual code tweaking it turns out the for some reason the singular letter “L” was trying to call a URL mask...? I tweaked the code a bit, removing said mask and now the file is fixed. It appears our rendering library doesn't like SVG masks :P. Feel free to ask anything else. Cheers — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 18:10, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you. It now looks correct, although I had to purge my browser cache. Verbcatcher (talk) 18:29, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Badoo.com screenshot.png
Thanks for uploading File:Badoo.com screenshot.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:19, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021
Hello Isochrone/Archives/2021,
Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.
Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.
At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.
There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.
Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.
To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here. Sent to 827 users. 04:30, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
File mover granted
Hello Berrely. Your account has been granted the "filemover" user right, either following a request for it or due to a clear need for the ability to move files. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:File mover for more information on this user right and under what circumstances it is okay to move files. When you move a file please remember to update any links to the new name as well! If you do not want the file mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Question from Vitaium on User talk:161.139.100.98 (04:15, 21 September 2021)
Hello Berrely, i have 2 questions! I found there is an IP user talk page with userboxes and babels, should an IP user talk page have userboxes and babels? Should it be speedily deleted? --Vitaium (talk) 04:15, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Vitaium,
- whilst it's generally unconventional, there's no specific rule against users having userboxes/other decorative templates on their talk page, I'm not aware of any exceptions to this for IP addresses, so it's likely fine. — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 05:51, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

How To Send Message Instead Of Editing This Page - and - Feedback About Berrely's Talk Page
(1) On your page User_talk:Berrely inside the table/banner which shows "User|Talk|Contribs|...|.js", the item "Talk" is probably suppose to be a link, and it it not. It cannot be clicked. (I know we are already on that page, and perhaps the wikimedia engine is intercepting the link, but maybe not.) That's FYI in case you want to change it, but it has led to me these questions ...
(2) Question (from a new wikipedian): Intuitively I looked around to send you a message, a notification, an alert, a something rather than editing a page to tell you about (#1) because it is just FYI-feedback about trivial structural content. Two questions for my assigned mentor. (2a) How would I do that: send a message without editing? Can I? Is it (technically) possible? (2b) What's the social protocol -- the normal usual way -- within this wiki community to inform you about something like (#1)? (2c) I will learn something by observing how you or the engine let me know you saw this and responded.
Thank you for being a mentoring guinea pig, Phc-NUL (talk) 14:39, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) - Phc-NUL, if you link to any page from that page, the link will always appear as bold. Templates such as this are generally designed to do this. If you wanted to contact someone on wikipedia, generally commenting on their talk is the correct response... You can however email a user instead. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:55, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
- For future readers looking for answers: How do I email? On a user's pages, along the leftmost edge/column, under "Tools", a link "Email this user" appears. Click on it. Further helpful documentation is on the email page. (I was only looking at very top or bottom of a user's pages for info or tools specific to a user. "Tools" is a third dynamic contextual list.) Thanks to Lee, Phc-NUL (talk) 16:55, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
