Your edits to a.o. Veneto
editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Veneto do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:41, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Veneto. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. --Dirk Beetstra T C 10:49, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
External links - Veneto
editBefore re-adding the link, I did discuss it on the talk page. Why don't you have a look at the page the external link leads to before removing it? It's a page containing the list of all the national parks, regional parks, and other protected areas in Veneto, and it is approved by each Park Authority with its name onto it. It's not advertising, but information on the protected areas of Veneto. Moreover, if you consider this advertising, what about the link "Ski resorts in Abruzzo" in the page of Abruzzo or the links to the Universities in the pages of Lombardy, for instance??? Aren't they advertising? Italianparks (talk) 11:11, 9 September 2008 (UTC)ItalianparksItalianparks (talk) 11:11, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- You mentioned, you did not discuss, let alone had achieved consensus. The link does not comply with out External links guideline, and with our 'what wikipedia is not' policy (we are not a linkfarm). Moreover, the way you were adding these links (to a large number of pages) is considered spamming here. Please stop. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:18, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Sorry about not waiting the "discussion". I still believe my link is a good external link, and I'll try to explain why. See if I manage. Anyway, if you consider my link as "what wikipedia is not", I think many links you have on wikipedia should be reconsidered. - Hmm, indeed. May I suggest you find a wikiproject (that is a place where people with similar interests come together), see Wikipedia:WikiProject. Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:53, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
