Speedy deletion nomination of User:Itsabhilashjames

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Itsabhilashjames requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.   Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at User:Itsabhilashjames. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Hello Itsabhilashjames. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Epiphany Entertainments, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Itsabhilashjames. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Itsabhilashjames|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:04, 24 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm not being paid for this edit; I chose to update the wiki page to bring it up to standards. I've selected a notable organization, and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves, as it always has. They have also received government awards. In the coming days, I would love to provide more information on many aspects. Abhilash JamesItsabhilashjames (talk) 12:08, 24 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your reply.
I asked about paid editing because some aspects of your draft are not neutrally-written, and perhaps the fact that you describe your aim as giving the organisation the "recognition it deserves" is linked to this issue. The aim should just be to objectively describe it, rather than to portray it in a positive light. Thus passages like
  • Epiphany Entertainments is known for its professional approach to storytelling, visual artistry, and commercial content development."
  • "Founded in 2019 by Shaji Kochukutty, Epiphany Entertainments quickly gained recognition in the media production industry...The film was lauded for its unique narrative and social impact, placing the company in the spotlight early in its journey."
  • "Known for delivering high-quality, socially relevant films and digital content.
are an issue. For one, they're all subjective judgement rather than verifiable fact, and just generally it sounds like promotional material. AntiDionysius (talk) 12:30, 24 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Got it! I’ll make the necessary edits and keep a close watch on these details moving forward. Thanks for recognizing that! Abhilash JamesItsabhilashjames (talk) 12:34, 24 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
No problem at all. You may find this page on avoiding subjectivity useful. Happy editing! AntiDionysius (talk) 12:35, 24 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
