Speedy deletion nomination of Institut Villa Pierrefeu
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Institut Villa Pierrefeu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - I deleted the article--I had to delete it twice, because you re-added essentially the same text; Another admin had previously deleted it earlier today. To give you time to write a proper article, I've protected it against re-creation for a few weeks.
- WP articles are intended as plain neutral descriptions. They say what something is. They do not say how good it is. Articles are addressed not to prospective clients, or pupils, or tourists, or visitors, but to someone in the general public who might come across the topic and be interested finding out what it is. Neither are they intended to raise the reputation of a school, or to increase awareness of it. They just describe it. The reader will draw the conclusions.
- The school is probably notable, and appropriate for an article. But it will need to be shown as notable by the inclusion of references providing substantial coverage from third-party independent reliable sources, not press releases or mere announcements or quotes from the director or unsupported statements about the nature of the students or comments about the beauty of the surroundings. Our presumption that secondary schools and colleges are notable applies only to degree-granting schools, and this does not appear to be one.
- When you rewrite the article, avoid adjectives of praise; avoid the use of the first person; avoid an emphasis on the founder. Avoid claims of cultural significance thats can't be proven from good sources.
- I notice that there is no corresponding article in the French or German WP. Their standards are similar to ours. DGG ( talk ) 15:58, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
Hello Ivpworld. DGG has given you some very good advice. Please follow it. When you work on your draft, the following references should help:
- Time Magazine (31 October 2011). "Mind Your Manners: The Secrets of Switzerland's Last Traditional Finishing School"
- Financial Times (30 September 2010). "Charm academy: Switzerland’s last finishing school"
- BBC News (7 July 2012). "The Swiss finishing school refusing to be finished"
- Daily News (15 February 1990). "Traditional Swiss Finish For Modern Women"
However, I'm a concerned about your user name. The official website of the school is Ivpworld.com. Please read Wikipedia:Username policy, especially this section and this one. You will probably need to change it. You also need to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for guidance when editing under those circumstances. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 18:01, 1 November 2014 (UTC)

Source needed for Finishing School page claim
editHi IVP!!! I've noted on the Finishing School page that your claim that IVP "still exists thanks to a constantly updated curriculum" needs to be verified by a cited source. I believe your claim is more than defendable. You might be more likely than me to be able to find a good source for it, so I thought I'd let you know! Thanks!
