Proposal: Our group consisting of Ruby Otrega, Jatsiri Carrillo, Isabel Ortega, and Jackeline Platero will be working on primarily editing the Disability page on Wikipedia. We will also link the disability page from the Occupational Inequality page of which we will also make a minor edit to. Jatsiri and Jackeline will be focusing on physical disability. Jackeline will work on the Acts established in the United States. Jatsiri will work on statistics regarding discrimination in the workplace. Ruby and Isabel will focus on physical disability. We wish to add substantial information to this section because of the lack of current information. Ruby.ortega005 (talk) 20:10, 2 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I really enjoyed reading about the article you will be working on and completely agree that this topic should be addressed to a greater extent. I really like that you were able to gather important data that can back up the facts. I do have some questions regarding your topic and I hope these can help you enhance your article. Firstly, is there any intentional motives for why people with disabilities are discriminated, or rather not represented in the workforce? I ask this because I know there are reasons why there is a wage gap between men and women in the workforce and the reasons behind it, but are there any reasons for this regarding people with disabilities? Second, will you be focusing on inequality here in the United States only? If you are would you consider adding any observations or techniques that other countries use to include people with disabilities in the workforce? Finally, are there any wage gaps between people with disabilities and people without, as seen between men and women? Hope this helps, and I am really interested to see how your group is able to enhance this page to create awareness. Also, I found this Wikispace which has some information which might help you add more details to your article:[1]. Hope it helps and keep up the good work! Second peer review I completely agree with Kristy, in that, this seems like a wonderfully researched topic! Will you be adding this as a section to the Occupational Inequality main article? Your research is well developed. Your next step is definitely, moving to create it as an easily understood summary of the statistics. I like your inclusion of the Acts because this shows that there are efforts to make this area more equal. It may also help to add in a list of disabilities that lead to this type of inequality. I work in HR on campus, and despite our workings to combat prejudices, they are still prevalent in the workforce. Perhaps you could touch on why socially we hold these people as weaker? The biggest thing that resonates with me is individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum. These are completely talented individuals who often get mistreated because of their inability to partake in "office banter" or office events. Also, it might be helpful to include the resource that individuals have to bring in service dogs to help them cope with a disability. This is a growing occurrence in the US workforce. Overall, I am very excited to see your final draft! ALeigh602 (talk) 04:59, 2 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Third peer review This sounds so interesting! I never even thought to look up how detailed the Disabilities page was because I just assumed it would be full. Are you guys planning on researching certain physical disabilities, or just focusing primarily on what a physical disability is and how it effects people? Maybe you guys could do a piece on the different types of disabilities, and how not all disabilities are as apparent as other (i.e. mental ones instead of physical ones)> Channelislandsgirl (talk) 22:44, 5 November 2016 (UTC)ChannelislandsgirlReply
