Thank you, Jarrah Tree. I have a lot of questions to ask , but can't find who will listen; I wish you can JCFuniverse (talk) 11:16, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps - what are the issues? JarrahTree 11:18, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I need to know how adding a thumbnail picture of the content I am writing can be done and how the story headings (topic by topic) are set up. When I say story headings, I mean the sidebar or navbar items that, when clicked, take the user to the corresponding section within the same Wikipedia content. Am I, as the content author, supposed to do all of that, or are there people within the Wikipedia team who handle this? JCFuniverse (talk) 11:43, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I strongly suggest picking an article that is close to your interest(s), and reverse engineer - the wikipedia team is not really an entity - a lot depends on your topic as to whether you have anyone interested in what you are doing... only then are you likely to be 'visited' if you slip up in any way and need guiding... there are also intro videos that might be of use, a lot depends on you preferred method of skill building...

But it takes time, acculturation into wikipedian logic, and the ways things work... JarrahTree 12:02, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the well-detailed response. I appreciate it. I think I will just delve further into the help page to gain more knowledge on writing Wikipedia content. JCFuniverse (talk) 15:26, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough - your item at draft has more problems than you can imagine, best of luck JarrahTree 01:22, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Now that's scary, please tell me what am doing wrong on my draft item 🙏 JCFuniverse (talk) 16:42, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Too much detail, reads like a CV or self made bio: -

It can be tempting to write about yourself or projects in which you have a strong personal involvement. However, remember that the standards for encyclopedic articles apply to such pages just like any other. This includes the requirement to maintain a neutral point of view, which can be difficult when writing about yourself or about projects close to you. Creating overly abundant links and references to autobiographical sources, such as your résumé or curriculum vitae, is unacceptable. See Wikipedia:Autobiography, Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

So thats for a start... JarrahTree 09:32, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I will make the corrections immediately. The person in this content is actually my Dad and he drafted everything I am posting JCFuniverse (talk) 11:32, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Far too much information, and BOLD is not normally used in references, it should be about a tenth of the size - always better to start small, minimise as much as possible. The important thing is to make sure there are adequate WP:RS JarrahTree 11:36, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
please point the part you're referring to by the header title JCFuniverse (talk) 18:41, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Still like a CV and not an encyclopedia article - far too much information, and likely to be rejected by a reviewer - WP:NOT, WP:ABOUT - trim, trim, trim... just advice though... JarrahTree 06:44, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, at this point, I don't understand what you mean by It's "like a CV and not an encyclopedia article". You said trim , trim, trim, what should i trim , which part? coz If encyclopedia article doesn't allow enough details /information about the subject, then I don't know what to trim and not trim. JCFuniverse (talk) 14:18, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
or you help make the necessary edits I'd appreciate that. JCFuniverse (talk) 14:45, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Have a look at an enyclopediac article - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floyd_R._Watson

There is no need to know every detail of work at all... There is far too much detail in your draft, the article list is classic WP:NOT - too many items, and it can be reduced - but you need to get a handle on doing it yourself... If an item of

information in the article is not going to be verified by WP:RS then it could be removed... JarrahTree 10:32, 25 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, good evening as at the time in Nigeria. Please checkout my new edits, i just make some corrections according to your suggestions: trimming. JCFuniverse (talk) 17:08, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
