editHello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Draft:The Rainforests Are Under Threat (2015 Film) with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:38, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Welcome
editHello, JDOLBERT, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.
The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:52, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hi JDOLBERT. If some of the above statments you made on your user talk page (and the user talk pages of other editors) are true, it appears that you are trying to create an article about yourself with Draft:Jérôme Dolbert. Generally, this is something editors are discouraged from doing for the reasons given in Wikipedia:Autobiography, so I strongly suggest you submit your draft via the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process so that other more experienced editors who review new articles can help clean it up and assist you wherever possible. Editors, especially new editors, trying to create autobiographies can find it hard to adhere to all of Wikipedia's various policy and guidelines, particularly Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. So, such articles are often quickly nominated for deletion via Wikipedia:Articles for deletion or Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion.
- I also suggest you take a look at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. For similar reasons as those given above, editors who are connected to the subjects of the articles they create or edit (for example, Draft:The Rainforests Are Under Threat (2015 Film) and Draft:The Others (2013 Film)), often find it hard to comply with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Conflict-of-interest (COI) editors are not expressly prohibited from editing such articles, but it can be tricky to pull off and might be viewed (rightly or wrongly) as suspicious by other editors. If you have any general questions about this, then feel free to ask them at Wikipedia:Teahouse. There are many experienced editors there who will be more than happy to try and help you.
- Finally, I think you should also take a look at WP:REALNAME. Wikipedia editors are allowed to select any username as long as it complies with Wikipedia:Username policy. Some editors do choose to use their real names and there is nothing wrong with that per se, but there can be some drawbacks to doing so. Also, be advised that impersonating others is something that is not allowed at all, so if by the slim chance you are not the Jérôme Dolbert you are writing about then you should not be using his name and claiming that you are him. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:13, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
editI am commenting on your message on User talk:Marchjuly. (The "helpme" template you used there puts the page on a public list seen by anyone willing to offer help).
I am afraid you have misunderstood Wikipedia. You wrote: "I am director and producer and I talk about my movies". Yes, of course, and there are many internet sites for you to do that, but Wikipedia is not one of them. It is a project to build a neutral, factual encyclopedia. It is not the sort of site like Facebook which people use to tell the world about themselves and their own affairs. That is strongly discouraged, because it is hard for anyone to write from a neutral point of view about their own affairs. This is explained in more detail at:
- Wikipedia:Autobiography
- Wikipedia:Conflict of interest
- Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide
and you should read those pages carefully. JohnCD (talk) 23:08, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
