Hello Deb

Needless to say that I am disappointed and although in general I can understand some arguments I am certainly not convinced by all of them. Let me first explain that when writing the text I followed the Wikipedia text of Musipedia, a comparable search engine, for many years accepted by Wikipedia. In the mean time I discovered that this text has been removed.

I am willing to adapt the text. However the guidelines ask for "independent reliable published sources. So this problem has to be solved. Several respected larger organizations deliberately have published positive experiences with the Melodycatcher. So far I do not know other than these this type of sources. Honestly I do not see reasons why these sources should not be "independant, reliable and published". I agree they are not "scientific" But I estimate this might be the case for much more sources used by Wikipedia

The text "reads as an advertisement". That would indicate a relation with a commercial site. Indeed hardly any world is as commercial as the music world. The Melodycatcher, however, in fact is one of the better non commercial sites, the product of a hobby, meant to help users to find song titles and related generalized on-line sources without any further commercial purpose.

Even than I could make a shorter text. It would help me if you could give me one or more examples of comparable stories

With best regards Jan van Os ————JLvanOs

Re-editing the article Melodycatcher

edit

When asking for help it takes many month to get any response.at all. On questions no answers are given except fully unclear and exaggerated instructions.

My conclusion: it is of no use to try to re-edit the article. In my opinion this all is only preventing useful information to be added to Wikipedia. Jvos —Preceding undated comment added 10:20, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
