Rules
editBattrick and Battrick Cup will probably be accepted on Wikipedia but, no thanks, we do not want Battrick Rules. This is source material which you do not want changed! Wikipedia is for colaboratively edited articles about subjects not for the subjects themselves. -- RHaworth 13:40, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
North Queensland Cowboys Userbox
editHey, glad to see you support the NRL. I recently changed your custom Cowboys userbox to a new standard Cowboys userbox. I hope you enjoy the new box! mdmanser 02:54, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
Re: Cowboys Userbox
editYeah originally the userbox did have a picture, but a Wikipedia copyright flaw was later pointed out by User:Kelly Martin. The Wikipedia copyright policy states that Fair Use images (such as the Cowboys logo) are NOT to be used on User pages. So yes, I did change your userbox to the new one with the logo, but it has since been reverted to a box without an image, and I can't see images being allowed on userspace for quite some time. Cheers. mdmanser 07:42, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Final Destiny06 (web).jpg
editThis media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Final Destiny06 (web).jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 00:19, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Please see the argument against 'merge' of the two butterflies
editYou had placed a merge on Delias descombesi for suggesting a merger with Delias sanaca. They are valid species of Jezebel butterflies found in India. I have placed the technical or scientific argument on Talk:Delias descombesi. However, I submit some more information to help you place things in context.
These stubs have been manually created by me for adding information on Indian butterflies. Please See List of butterflies of India (Pieridae). I have created a stub for each species of that family which is listed there. We shall shortly be adding photos and information over the next three months. We are in the process of doing so so for other families also, for example Papilionidae.
These stubs are necessary as we get a lot of information from Indian naturalists supporting our cause in the form of books, references, and photos. These come in bits and spurts so we need all the stubs up beforehand so that the information and images can easily be loaded.
Our endeavour, List of butterflies of India is a proposed project under Wikipedia:WikiProject Arthropods. We have placed over a hundred photos on Wikimedia Commons in support of our endeavour on Indian butterflies.
Since we have a well thought out and deliberate plan adhering to all Wikipedia usages and conventions, I request you to kindly remove the merge tag.
An example of the kind of good (I hope :) ) work that we are doing can be seen at :-
Regards, AshLin 06:44, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

AFL sucks
editThere is no such sport as "AFL" - it's actually called Australian rules football. It'd be like me calling your sport the "NRL". Rogerthat Talk 08:52, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'll watch the Origin game of NRL then in your honour mate. Hahaha :) Rogerthat Talk 10:25, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Regarding {{notability}} placed on Battrick
editThe article lacks links to other reliable sources (excludes forum and blog posts) that discuss the website in detail. The first criteria of WP:SOFTWARE says, "Web specific-content is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria: 1. The content itself has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself.". Sadly, the other articles you mentioned, Kings of Chaos and OGame, also fail this criteria. Hattrick barely passes (it has a sizable "References" section, but whether these links are all from reliable sources, I haven't looked in detail).
That said, I'm not about to go on a rampage nominating lots of website articles for deletion anytime soon, although someone else may probably do so. Many website / online game articles we have may be non-notable. :( Kimchi.sg 16:14, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
To me, that link looks okay. As for what's a reliable source, some reading on how to find one is at Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Kimchi.sg 08:51, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
Baseball
editCheers mate. If you want to help out with any of the Baseball in Australia and Australian Baseball League pages feel free to or leave a note on my talk page if theres anything u could contribute with, the biggest problem im having is finding photos of teams uniforms so i can make the uniform pictures like on Waverley/Melbourne Reds page and with venues that were used and also results from each seasons. --Dan027 07:55, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thats preety good then, hopefully you can find out abit more info on the Bandits background aswell, any chance of photos then? --Dan027 07:04, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Rugby League Ball Questions
editI'd take a picture of any type of ball, beat up or clean. I'm using it for the Portal:Rugby League and Portal:Rugby. I live in the US, so the only exposure to the game here is Union, but Setanta Sports are now showing league games (mainly the UK stuff, although I did catch the 3rd state of origin match). I created the Rugby Portal, and subsequently the Rugby Union and Rugby League Portals to try and encourage any and all rugby players/supporters to get rugby articles featured on Wikipedia. That is my end aim. Does that answer your questions? Thanks for your response. Cheers! Rowlan 13:51, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi ... sorry it's my fault, I should have left a note on the article's discussion page, but I somehow must have forgot!!!! Anyway the reason why I added the context tag is because I didn't have a clue what sport was being played, until I got to the bottom and saw what category it was in. I know absolutely nothing about the subject so I decided to tag it, so that someone who does know can rectify the problem. Cheers !!! Hattrick & Battrick
editHey mate, concerning what you asked me, yea, I've played Hattrick for 4 years now, also been a GM there. ;) It's really a great game although I find it gets kinda boring over time. I've also tried Battrick but I don't even know cricket's rules, lol, so I ended up quitting. About the deletion nazis, well, I guess they've got nothing better to do. Hopefully our articles get kept. Cheers aenariel 11:14, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Rugby League Template
editNa of course I dont mind. Go right ahead and post it on the discussion page if you want, that'd be fine. --Sahafan 08:19, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Rugby League Ball
editBrilliant! Cheers. That picture was previously on here, but someone took it down...Let's hope it flies a bit under the radar for now. You can see what I've done with it here: Portal:Rugby. Again thanks for your help. Rowlan 14:00, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Re:Talk alteration
editI'm not sure what you're referring to - could you clarify? Thanks, TewfikTalk 06:26, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- I was actually talking about a different page. What exactly is the problem that you've had with the user? TewfikTalk 06:43, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, I don't have time to take care of this now, but if you go to WP:3O, they may be able to help. Let me know if it works out. TewfikTalk 15:54, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Image:A.Thompson.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:A.Thompson.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 16:00, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.
Help out now!
edit- Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
- Give people the Civility Barnstar.
- Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
- Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
- Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.
Decision Making
editThe council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.
If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

Image tagging for Image:Wrsc09.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Wrsc09.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Redlands "Stadium"
editNice work on the Holloway Field article, i was just wondering is Redlands also a "Stadium" or just a local field? --Dan027 03:31, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- They hosted something international at Redlands (I forgot what, I'll ask around), so it is one of the better fields. I wouldn't call it a stadium though. I think I play them soon after the Christmas break so I'll take some pictures of it then. If I have time I'll fill in a few more Greater Brisbane Baseball clubs and fields as I visit them ;-) --JRA WestyQld2 10:49, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ugh, it was used a training ground for the Americans before the 2000 Olympics. I'll look into a bit more... --JRA WestyQld2 10:50, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for that, im not sure if to list it on the stadiums template or not. --Dan027 13:19, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Justin Smith (Rugby player).jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Justin Smith (Rugby player).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. WPRL Article Improvement Drive
editHey I've noticed you're a regular on rugby league articles, particulary NRL ones. I need your advice on something I'm thinking of starting up on the project. Many WikiProjects have Article Improvement Drives which have different levels of success. I'm thinking of starting one up for this one too, but instead of voting on an article I would rather strive to improve one NRL club every fortnight and bring it up very close to featured status. Now it seems as though there'd be a lot of work involved, but there are also a lot of club fans out there who'd probably be willing to participate. Basically there are 30 weeks in the NRL season and there are 15 club pages that are not yet featured. I propose that we all have a schedule to work on one new article every second round, in alphabetical order. By the end of the season hopefully we will have 15 near-complete, if not complete articles. My only concern at this stage is the dedication of editors to help out other team pages that they are not interested in. Basically in order to get the support of editors like these, we need a few leaders in the project. If you are willing to dedicate a bit of your time every week into this and if you have any further suggestions, could you let me know at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Rugby league/Article improvement drive? Thanks, --15:07, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Allan Fairlie-Clarke
editAn editor has nominated Allan Fairlie-Clarke, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allan Fairlie-Clarke and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Hello, JRA WestyQld2. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Australia flag2.gif) was found at the following location: User:JRA WestyQld2. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 01:10, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

editThanks for uploading Image:AdamMogg.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
