Sue Austin
editFirst of all, thank you very much for the work on Sue Austin. I am an editor who is involved in both WikiProject Devon and Did you know? here at Wikipedia. This article is a fantastic opportunity to showcase very interesting facts and to increase our variation on biographical articles. I think the best way to move forward would be to showcase a photograph on Wikipedia's Main Page in the near future. I am a little concerned by File:Portal wikipedia.jpg, as we typically don't allow editors to upload photographs that aren't their own by relying on an email they received themselves. There is a procedure at Commons:Commons:OTRS, which is designed specifically for this kind of situation. If you feel like following this process to get the proper licensing for the image, that would be great. If not, I would like to help out. Do you know who the author is so that I can contact them myself via OTRS. Regards, Jolly Ω Janner 04:41, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
Please forward the emails to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org . A volunteer (not me personally) will review the emails to ensure that the license holder is freely releasing the media. We do not accept emails that simply state "I allow Wikipedia to reuse my photos". The easiest way is to ask the photograph's copyright owner to send an email copied from Commons:Commons:Email templates. If you don't chose to use the template, make sure the copyright owner knows that you are requesting it be released under Creative Commons 4.0 (maybe send them this URL?). Finally include a link to https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Portal_wikipedia.jpg in the e-mail to make sure the volunteer can find the picture on our system! Thanks. Any questions, let me know. Jolly Ω Janner 10:19, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Sue Austin
editOn 21 March 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sue Austin, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Sue Austin, who performed as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, uses an underwater wheelchair specially modified with scuba diving equipment (pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sue Austin. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

~Kvng (talk) 21:25, 7 September 2018 (UTC)Ways to improve Rosie Kay
editHi, I'm Rosguill. JTdisabilityartsonline, thanks for creating Rosie Kay!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. The article's citation style needs to be improved: right now, a lot of claims don't have clear citations attached to them, and other claims have citations attached that have nothing to do with the claim made. Additionally, clumping four or five citations together at the end of a sentence can be really confusing and hard to follow. The content for the most part seems accurate and good to include, but you need to show your work with the references.
Additionally, the article gives disproportionate weight to a few of her performances, to the near exclusion of the others. 5 Soldiers seems to deserve the attention based on its accolades, but it's not clear why MK ULTRA gets so much more attention than There is Hope. Either flesh the history of the other pieces out a bit, or justify why the pieces that are included deserve so much more attention.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
