Template:Mandals in East Godavari district

edit

Template:Mandals in East Godavari district may not be required, as we have already Template:East Godavari district which mentions the mandals and revenue divisions. Also see that towns and villages pages should not be wikilinked to mandals.--Vin09(talk) 06:23, 5 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Vin09 garu, Noted please. You are requested to advise me, what course of action I have to take in this regard. May I delete today's Mandal Template postings ? I am requesting you, please help me now and also in future. With regards. J.V.R.K. PRASAD 06:31, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

It's your wish, I'm not forcing. I just informed you about the existence of mandal info in Template:East Godavari district. Also, I just wanted to discuss on what should be done on Template:Villages in East Godavari district to look it more legible. Any advice?--Vin09(talk) 06:36, 5 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sir, I am poor writing in english and however I will try to express my views and ideas for sharing with you for the sake of our Wikipedia. Further, the names avaible in the template are not hiding. You may please apply suitable different colours on the head bar of the templates for States, districts, Mandals, villages, etc. individually and we can recognise the templates very easily. Example:Districts:Head blue, Mandals:brick, etc,. Please pardon me if any mistakes are written by me and oblige. J.V.R.K. PRASAD 06:45, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

No, there's nothing wrong in your work. I was asking how can we make the Template:Villages in East Godavari district look better i.e., it is very long listing, so what more can be done to make it better. Any idea from your side. Shall we add mandal wise listing in that or any other?--Vin09(talk) 06:48, 5 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sir, This villages template i.e., Template:Villages in East Godavari district may utilise only district essay East Godavari District and other important eassays if required. Next, we can prepare each Mandal wise templates and they may use for each village respectively. I feel this type of work is sufficient, sir. You may please permit me to prepare Mandal templates, sir. J.V.R.K. PRASAD 06:55, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

You can go ahead, no need of my permission. As you have more experience in te.wiki, so you might have good knowledge in these. Thanks.--Vin09(talk) 07:05, 5 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sir, Every moment, I fell that I am a kid (student) before any other person and lot of knowledge I have to learn. I will prepare Mandal wise templates and put the same in the relevant village pages in my leisure time. with regards. J.V.R.K. PRASAD 07:36, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Now check Template:Villages in East Godavari district once.--Vin09(talk) 07:58, 5 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve List of trains run from Ludhiana railway station

edit

Hi, I'm NearEMPTiness. JVRKPRASAD, thanks for creating List of trains run from Ludhiana railway station!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please check WP:NTT before you spend your time on issuing additional lists of this type. I personally think that the readers of an encyclopedia do not benefit from reading time table lists, if they read them at all. Please enter blue links.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. NearEMPTiness (talk) 06:35, 8 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

A request to you

edit

Hello JVRKPRASAD, I would like to request you if you can use Government of India's official website (e.g. censusindia.gov.in and indiapost.gov.in) as reference to geographical articles because as per WP:UGC citing unreliable user-generated sources are prohibited and I was doing the same mistake by using census2011.co.in, onefivenine.com and, villageinfo.in as references to support population and pin codes and found all of your articles (same as mine) in that list at Punjab edit-a-thon cite these three websites. I have already started replacing these links with official government websites and came across to request you if you can do the same.

You can easily find population for any village/town here and postal index numbers at this link these both are official website of Indian Government. Keep on good work at Punjab edit-a-thon and best wishes. GSS (talk) 16:42, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Tito Dutta garu, Thank you very much for your co-operation and co-ordination. In this connection I am requesting you sir, is it possible to know how much of actual work/bytes done by each participant for this Punjab edit-a-thon ? Further, what is the minimum size (bytes) of each essay/article for acceptance in this section of edit-a-thon ?   J.V.R.K. PRASAD 07:28, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
  • JVRK Garu, yes we can check bytes added users. About article size, there is no minimum size, but WCI asks not to create too short articles. Please let me know if you have questions. --Tito Dutta (talk) 07:39, 30 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Tito Dutta garu, May I know what is the full form of WCI ? What is the minimum size of each article ? You know very well that one district i.e., Kapurthala is having hundreds of villages. We can create each village article with map, one para details and coordinates without furnishing any further more details. Is it possible by the screening authority to accept this type of creation of articles with less information ? --J.V.R.K. PRASAD 07:57, 30 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Hello WCI means Wikiconference India? Minimum size for English Wikipedia has not been decided yet. It says "minimum size" only. From this rule and our DYK practice it is around 1500 bytes (excluding infbox, tables, references, categories). It is around 300 words. I am unsure if too short articles will be accepted. One editor created 100 or so 2 lines articles, those have not been counted. --Tito Dutta (talk) 12:18, 30 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
Dear JVRKPrasad, greetings from WCI, we generally appreciate articles of at least 2000 bytes (all total, including infobox and things). But articles less than 1500 bytes are generally considered too short for inclusion. Thanks! Jim Carter 13:43, 30 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

References for villages

edit

Hi, thanks for creating all these articles on Indian villages. A word of advice: Don't use census2011.co.in, onefivenine.com etc. as references -- these are not acceptable sources by Wikipedia standards. In fact, these websites have been auto-generated from census data to earn AdSense revenue, and can be considered as spam links. Instead of these websites, you can cite the relevant district census handbook as a source (e.g. Kapurthala). If you need more sources, you can search for the village name on news.google.co.in, or try searching site:nic.in village-name / site:gov.in village-name. utcursch | talk 16:39, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:53, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm Onel5969. JVRKPRASAD, thanks for creating Tarf Hazi!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. The only reference does not appear to be about this village

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Onel5969 TT me 17:41, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
