Conflict of interest and your username
editWelcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:42, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
How can I change my name? My name is Jabriel Mitchell I work for OMO Music Group Agency to represent my client Lil Kei who is Kionne Ellis. I’m not seeing anything wrong with my username JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup (talk) 17:58, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm in the wrong. I didn't read the name correctly. You don't need to request a username change. However, you have a direct conflict of interest with the clients you represent. Please carefully read WP:COI. Further, you need to read and follow the paid editing notice I am placing below this. I strongly urge you to stop attempting to create articles on your clients, and instead make a request for articles about them at Wikipedia:Requested articles. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:35, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Paid editing
editHello JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:35, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Please fix it for me I’ll give you all details I’m currently being paid 15% of the artist’s sales I owe this to my client. Let’s get this done on our end team thanks! JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup (talk) 18:47, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Ok several things:
- You don't need to change your username. That was an error on my part.
- Please see your userpage and let me know if that's what you intended.
- You need to have a look at WP:NMUSICIAN and understand that unless your client has been the subject (not just mentioned; the subject) multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself, it is highly unlikely we would ever have an article about them here.
- You need to understand that Wikipedia is not a means of promotion. We are an encyclopedia, not a directory of musicians.
- I hope this helps to clarify things. Let me know if you have questions. --Hammersoft (talk) 19:02, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- (we can keep conversation centralized here on your talk page) Sorry and thank you I got a bit confused if it was working or not I realized. Can you help me I’ll give you any information to edit please and thank you. JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup (talk) 19:27, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- The only information that would be pertinent is that contained and/or supported by reliable, secondary sources. Do you have sources from multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician? --Hammersoft (talk) 20:01, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Lil Kei has a new comment
editLil Kei - Nervous was aired on hot 92.9 Fm (Binghamton) and Hot107.9 Fm (Syracuse) in 2018 what’s the problem? JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup (talk) 11:27, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- No problem but merely being aired on a radio station doesn't make an artist notable I'm afraid. Theroadislong (talk) 12:01, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
How can I get unblocked JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup (talk) 11:44, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- You don't do it by creating accounts in an attempt to circumvent your block as you did with User:Jaleelpick. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry#Inappropriate_uses_of_alternative_accounts. You can attempt to get unblocked by following the instructions that appear in the block notice below. As I've mentioned before, you aren't reading what is being told to you. You are continuing this pattern, as the block notice clearly tells you what to do...and yet you're still asking what to do. I see no compelling reason to unblock you. You are refusing to abide by our policies. --Hammersoft (talk) 13:33, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

- The problem is that despite the efforts of multiple people, you are not addressing the very serious concerns regarding the notability of your client. Instead, you're bent on promoting them regardless of the advice being given to you. I previously advised you to use Wikipedia:Requested articles. You didn't take that advice. I previously advised you to find multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician. You didn't take that advice. I previously advised you to read WP:NMUSICIAN. It doesn't appear you've taken that advice. Instead, you've been asking people to publish your draft to article status for you, without addressing these issues. Since you began editing here you have had one and only one focus; get an article about your client published here on Wikipedia. As has been previously pointed out to you, Wikipedia is not a means of promotion. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:41, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
Help:
editHelp me get unblocked JabrielAtOmoMusicGroup (talk) 11:44, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- You need to follow the instructions in the block notice above, use the template to submit an unblock request. Take a look at WP:GAB, explain what you will edit apart from promoting your client, and that you understand notability guidelines and are able to take comments on how to improve drafts. Repeatedly removing a reviewer's comments from a draft as you did at Draft:Lil Kei is disruptive. Dylsss(talk contribs) 02:51, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
