edit You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. DMacks (talk) 20:30, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- you cannot just revert my edits without discussing with me
- On the contrary, I am one of at least two who have reverted your edits, which you made without discussion and without WP:V support. WP:BRD, ball's in your court to get consensus to re-include your way. DMacks (talk) 20:32, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- What you did here was vandalism --Jacob Javits (talk) 20:34, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- In particular, I (as well as at least one other) dispute your boilerplate addition of content regarding attributes of "institute of technology" to schools with that in their name. "you are performing WP:OR, extrapolating from their name, and does not have much relevance either ("tend to" especially demonstrates failure to prove match to WP:V for *this* case)" applies to almost all of them. You have added them without explanation and have had your edit disputed with explanation (now twice). DMacks (talk) 22:07, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion
editHello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you.
Offering some advice
editJacob Javits, it appears that you were warned about reverting deletions of your edits. Since you are a new user, it can be annoying to learn all our rules. Let me recommend that if another editor removes your edits, don't revert them. Instead go to the "Talk Page" of the article and open a discussion. Then go to that editor's talk page and request that they tell you why your edit was reverted. It is bit of a process, but it is better then getting all frustrated. I'd like to help make your editing experience less frustrating and hopefully you will stick around a while. Feel free to ask me any question at all about Wikipedia, especially if you feel like your edits aren't being respected. Just click on the "talk to me" link after my name: --Dkriegls (talk to me!) 21:44, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sock puppet of Mangoeater1000 (talk · contribs · global contribs · page moves · user creation · block log) that was created to violate Wikipedia policy. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that all edits made while evading a block or ban may be reverted or deleted. If this account is not a sock puppet, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
