Fat-tailed sheep

Are the fat-tailed sheep breeds of domestic sheep (Ovis aries)? Probably the fat-tailed sheep article should be listed under the "See also" section of Sheep or Domestic sheep article. What do you think? —Donama 05:25, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Redirects

You can make a new article at Listerdale Mystery with one line saying

#REDIRECT [[The Listerdale mystery]]

Then it should automatically go to the The Listerdale mystery regardless of capitalisation. Of course, if you think the original article is badly named, then you might want to move the existing article to the new name (and put the redirect from the old name). I just checked, and in this case a "move" seems more appropriate. See the button next to history. Use that to simply move the article. Snoek

My advice is, to move snoek to Thyrsites atun and make a disambiguation page at the former. (I note that there are quite a few snoeks: see [1].) Gdr 15:37, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

It's not worth listing all the FishBase common names at the snoek disambiguation page, or even only the ones in English. The ideal would be to find groups all (or mostly) carrying the name, so that you end up with a page like eel (disambiguation) or knifefish. In this case, I note that most of the "snooks" in the genus Centropomus are also known as "snoeks", so you could have a single entry for that genus noting the variant spelling.

You might even choose to redirect snoek to snook and disambiguate two two spellings together. Gdr 17:09, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: Vandalism on one's watchlist

Go into the vandalised page's history. See the version just before the vandalised one - click on this version (by clicking the date). Click to edit the current page (which is editing the same article, but in the format it was in before the vandalism). About move requests

You chose to oppose the move of sucking pig on grounds that weren't really relevant to the discussion. We're not voting on removing information, but to use the most common name based on the Wikipedia:Naming conventions. There are also very good reasons for doubting (or even completely rejecting) the validity of Davidson's claim about the etymology of the word, though we will keep it as it seems to be a popular minority opinion on the issue. Either way, I believe you should reconsider your stance.

Clarification

That section in the Yazid article flagrantly violated NPOV. It did not have credible sources. Most people agree that Yazid was nothing more than a drunk, corrupt murderer. Saying otherwise would be absurd. Embargo 19:20, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
