Information icon Hello, I'm Jlwoodwa. An article that you recently made, Hardy perfect fishing reel, seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or another application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. In particular, you should check each citation, and fictitious references must be removed. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. jlwoodwa (talk) 04:42, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi thanks for the help and direction I used chat GPT to generate some summaries as the books referenced can be quite long. The references I provide and I have checked for hallucinations. Is that permitted? If not I can start again without any gpts. Thanks JamesOB12 (talk) 04:54, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
The language it's generated is very promotional.

Celebrated for its precision engineering, distinctive sound, and classic aesthetic, the Perfect has long been revered by both traditionalists and contemporary fly fishers around the world. Its design has remained fundamentally unchanged for over a century, symbolizing craftsmanship, heritage, and the golden age of fly fishing.

This sounds like an advertisement rather than an encyclopedia article. I would recommend just writing it yourself; even if it hasn't hallucinated anything, the promotion makes it a poor summary. jlwoodwa (talk) 06:22, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Understood, it’s a good point RE promotional language, will re write myself now. JamesOB12 (talk) 06:58, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
