Orphaned non-free media (Image:Paul.JPG)
editThanks for uploading Image:Paul.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:49, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Danlevycommercial.JPG
editThanks for uploading Image:Danlevycommercial.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 12:43, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Aliya-Jasmine Sovani.jpg

License tagging for Image:Gilson lubin.JPG
editThanks for uploading Image:Gilson lubin.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:06, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Aylia-Jasmin Sovani
editA tag has been placed on Aylia-Jasmin Sovani, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Aylia-Jasmin Sovani is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template hangon underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Aylia-Jasmin Sovani saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. —72.75.72.63 (talk · contribs) 21:48, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Unblock request
editTo request unblocking: • IP address: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:205.210.254.12 • Blocking admin: Stephen • Block reason: Persistent image violations • Block originally applied to: Jamierush • Your account name (if you have one): • An explanation of why your block is unfair: I didn’t realize I was sourcing the photographs incorrectly. I thought I was obeying the copy write info. I will not post any pics.
- Please note that the problem isn't just the sourcing of images. The problem is that Wikipedia's goal is to create a free-content encyclopedia. That means that we don't use copyrighted images from someone else unless we have to. In general, photos of a living person are only used when the copyright holder (in other words, the photographer) explicitly releases the images under the GFDL. The vast majority of images on the internet are NOT acceptable for Wikipedia and no amount of sourcing or adding tags will make them acceptable. Does that make sense? The simple version is don't upload a photo of a living person or existing building unless you, personally, took that picture. If you will agree to ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions before uploading any files, I (or another admin) will remove your block. Will you agree to this? --B (talk) 21:49, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes I agree to ask Wikipedia: Media copyright questions or yourself about uploading any photographs. Thank you for your explanation. I also have a question about reactivating two wikipedia: Aliya-Jasmine Sovani & Danie Salema. How would I go about doing that? Jamierush (talk) 17:18, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Jamie
- They do not currently meet Wikipedia's standards for notability. For that reason, they cannot have biographies on Wikipedia at this time. If you have questions or need help, let me know on my talk page. Also, consider checking out Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User Program. Regards, Lara❤Love 17:30, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Adoption Discussion
editHey there! I'd be more than happy to work closely with you to show you the ropes of current Wikipedia policy. Once you understand how everything works, doing edits to Wikipedia will be a lot more rewarding and a lot less frustrating as they won't be constantly tagged and deleted, as it seems is happening (at least, looking at the above content). I am at work in New Mexico at the moment, but I fly home this evening and then will be on Wiki a lot for the next week. The best way to contact me is either on my talk page, as you did, or by email at (my user name) at gmail.com (i wrote it that way to avoid any spam). I have found that using an IM or standard email is typically an easier way to communicate, rather than editing each other's talk pages, especially when rapidly going back and forth.
Anyway, welcome to Wikipedia! Tanthalas39 (talk) 18:50, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Of course you are welcome to have more than one adopter. Just realize that Wikipedia policy, although rooted in some core principles, is a blurry, ever-shifting entity in which you might find some differing opinions. I don't think it should be a huge issue, however. I'll be around editing this weekend a bit, or, contact me on Monday. Tanthalas39 (talk) 02:07, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Tips
editGood job on on substantially contributing to articles and continuing to be a Wikipedian. Most users just make a few small edits and then leave.
- It is great that you are including references to back up your information by using the citation templates. The largest criticism of Wikipedia is that anyone can edit so anyone can make something up and call it a fact and by citing sources, you are making the claims invalid. In the future, generally add references after punctuation instead of at the end of an article (as it has been done with reference #1 at Daniel Levy (TV personality). This way, others will be able to tell which source is backing up which fact.
- Television shows should be italicized. Make text italicized by adding to both sides, e.g. MTV Live displays as Lost
- Television episodes should be in quotation marks, e.g. "Made in America"
- At the top of every page in Wikipedia (except for special pages), there are six buttons. The second one is "discussion" and clicking will lead you to the talk page for the article, user or Wikipedia policy.
- You added a "random facts" section to Anna Cyzon. Trivia sections are discouraged on Wikipedia; however, it is is encouraged to integrate this trivia into sentences in paragraphs, e.g. a section could be created called "early life" where you could mention in prose that her first job was at Club Monaco.
- Wikipedia articles must be written from a neutral point of view and should not read like an advertisement. At the Nicole Holness article on November 5, you wrote that "When she's not working, this unabashed car lover enjoys 'stripping down and redesigning cars with my friends at the auto body shop,' and hopes one day to take part in a Formula One race."
- Before recreating articles for Aliya-Jasmine Sovani and Diane Salema, you should consider whether or not they meet the notability guideline, i.e., will you be able to write articles about them while citing reliable sources. See also: Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons.
- User pages are not required; however, it is recommended that you create your user page with the following text: #REDIRECT User talk:Jamierus Once you do that, User:Jamierush will instantly redirect users to your talk page upon clicking on the link.
- You can change your signature at Special:Preferences. Since you do not have a user page, I suggest changing it from Jamierush (talk) to Jamierush, which is actually Jamierush. You can also add colours if you please.
- You should make use of your watchlist. You can add pages to your watchlist by clicking "watch" (one of the six buttons at the top near "discussion"). When you go to your watchlist, you will see the most recent change from each page on your watchlist. This allows you to track changes and vandalism. A link can be found at the top right hand corner of every Wikipedia page when you are logged in. It can also be found via Special:Watchlist.
- How did I know about your past edits? I went to Special:Contributions/Jamierush. A link to this is present in the toolbox on the left side this page.
If you ever need any help ever, do not hesitate to contact me on my talk page or your talk page, as I have watchlisted it. –thedemonhog talk • edits 19:30, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Aliya-Jasmine Sovani
editHello ... this is a late response to your comment on my talk page. The Deletion Log for this biography looks like this:
Deletion log * 09:07, 7 December 2007 Khukri (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "Aliya-Jasmine Sovani" (content was: ' Meet Aliya-Jasmine Sovani from MTV Live Aliya-Jasmine Sovani is one of the hosts of MTV Live in Canada.' ...and the log for the other spelling 'Aylia-Jasmin Sovani' looks like this:
22:10, 24 December 2007 TeaDrinker (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "Aylia-Jasmin Sovani" (CSD G4: Recreation of deleted material: content was: 'Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aliya-Jasmine Sovani Aliya-Jasmine Sovani was born on November 18, 1981 in Ottawa, Ontario. Sovani is multi...' (and the only) (Restore)
The initial deletion came as the result of an WP:AFD action based on a lack of notability of the subject of the biography. The three 'references' provided are not considered to be independent of the subject nor impartial nor free of conflict of interest because they are published by the subject's employer (they do not fulfill the criteria of WP:RS. The subsequent deletions were due to the admonition against "re-posting" material that is substantially the same as that deleted through a discussion-based review forum, such as WP:AFD (but not WP:CSD or WP:PROD, for instance because of the lack of discussion leading to action).

A tag has been placed on Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Aliya-Jasmine Sovani is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template hangon underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Aliya-Jasmine Sovani saying why this article should stay. —72.75.72.63 (talk · contribs) 12:00, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
