Sock puppetry complaint
editRegarding this edit in which you lodged a complaint about the persistent blocking of any user trying to add information about Paul Easter, let me point out several issues:
- The original article on Paul T T Easter was deleted after a deletion discussion. Absent any significant changes in Easter's notability since that discussion, no new article can be written, because the community has already reached a consensus that he doesn't merit inclusion.
- Other user accounts that have attempted to recreate this information have done so deceptively, using alternate article titles to hide the fact that they are writing about this same person. This deception has led the community to the belief that Easter (or his friends) are willing to circumvent Wikipedia's policies for their own purposes. Fair or not, this has created a widespread bias against any inclusion of material about this person in the project.
- Findings of sock puppetry are not based solely on the creation of these articles: the check user clerks have tools available to identify when a single user is abusing multiple accounts.
- Sock puppetry also includes meat puppetry, the recruitment of one's friends to attempt to recreate articles that the original user has been blocked for trying to create.
In short, the community has indicated loudly and clearly that no article on Easter should exist within Wikipedia, and that it will deal quickly with any user or users who try to circumvent that decision. If you truly believe that there is new information that should be brought to light regarding the creation of an article about Easter, you might better take up the issue at the administrators' noticeboard.
