RMS Titanic

I've just undone a change you made to the RMS Titanic article. For context, I think it's useful to know how many people wer on the ship i.e., not just how many died, or how many the ship _could_ carry. I'd also prefer the "before midnight", as it's more appropriate there - the "precise" time is ship local time anyway, so the "11:40" isn't necessarily here or there. Also, it scans a bit better. Hi - thanks for the response. You mention using "2,240" for the total on board, but other references on the page say 2,223. For now, I'm leaving it (busy today) - if you want to chase down the discrepancy, feel free to change it. Lissajous (talk) 10:42, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Lifeboat 1

The article Lifeboat 1 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unnecessary article (with vague title) on a topic already covered at Timeline of the sinking of the RMS Titanic#00:45 - First lifeboat lowered and List of passengers on board RMS Titanic.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Name of artist

Japee,

When you add pictures to an article, would you mind having the curiosity to look into the history of the painting or photograph you are adding & the courtesy of naming the author of the work? For instance, you added a young Marie Antoinette to her article with the caption "Young Marie Antoinette" and totally skipped the name of the artist, who happens to be Martin van Meytens. By doing some research, you could have found the reproduction of the painting, the name of the artist & the age of Marie Antoinette at the time the painting was done.

It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
