Global warming

edit

Hi. I realise that this revert was because the user that inserted it is an abusive sockpuppet, but is the information in the edit itself wrong, or is it Wikipedia policy to revert abusive socks' edits even if they are helpful and regardless of the context? Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 22:34, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm honestly not sure if there is a rule or not. If someone happens to know that comes by here, I am curious what the policy is. Regarding the revert, I do know of Emanuel's recent publication, and it probably does fit in Global warming under the paragraph that begins "Additional anticipated effects include..." since it mentions Emanuel's previous work (though not directly cited). If I weren't in a rush at the time when I noticed the familiar editing style of the puppeteer, I might have tried to merge it in that paragraph somewhere, as the study doesn't merit an entire paragraph to itself. I think some discussion of what exactly should be done with the study needs to happen in Talk:Global warming, like what User:Rossnixon has started. Jason Patton (talk) 13:42, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I want to add it looks that the Houston Chronicle article (second source linked in the diff) grossly overstates the conclusions from the BAMS article. Jason Patton (talk) 14:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry about all this. its for a class project and i did not do a very good job of working on it earlier. this was all rushed and i appreciate your help with my article. i will be devoting more time to making it a better article and would greatly appreciate your input and help because i'll admit, i'm not sure what is going on. ha. thanks again.--Gpidelt (talk) 12:12, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

No problem! It took me a long time to figure out how this all works too :) Jason Patton (talk) 12:22, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

So fabrictramp, a wikipedia admin, keeps redirecting this page to a list of DTD undergrad chapters. they keep saying that i have no notably or attempt to show it. i'm not sure what they are getting after or what i need but i was hoping you had some insight into the solution. thanks jason. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gpidelt (talkcontribs) 10:53, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jason. Congratulations on your entry into the Ron Cram Alternative Reality Zone. Be careful, that way madness lies. Raymond Arritt (talk) 01:09, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Shakespeare apparently didn't follow forecasting principles either. Madness is about telling the truth these days. Jason Patton (talk) 06:09, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

BNL

edit

Just for the record, I left the source for the BNL arrest on Robertson's talk page. And, the Yahoo Music article which I had as a source said Robertson was the one that was arrested. I was careful to notice because I had at first thought it was Page. The page has since been modified to say Page. http://music.yahoo.com/read/news/12176797 Smitherd (talk) 18:11, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

No worries, though there was a mistake somewhere in your addition as your reference just linked to the number 4! That perplexed me for a bit. Ah well, no matter now. If your edit somehow ever gets you in trouble, I'll vouch for you. Jason Patton (talk) 18:15, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Awesome, man. I was a little disappointed to hear that he was arrested... I also found it particularly ironic that he was arrested right after releasing Snacktime. Smitherd (talk) 21:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I'm with you on that one. BNL's always been one of my favorite bands, though I haven't actually followed them quite as much lately as I have in the past. It sounds like Page has been going through some stressful times, though it's no excuse. Still, I hope that everything gets worked out in a respectful manner and that he gets his life back in gear. You are receiving this message because you are listed as an active participant in WikiProject Meteorology, WikiProject Severe weather, and/or WikiProject Non-tropical storms. I have made a proposal to start an official assessment page for these three projects, under the WP:METEO banner. Since this would need significant participation to work properly, I'd like input from as many interested parties as possible (even those who may not watch the project pages), so please visit the discussion here and leave your thoughts/opinions. Hmm, not behind a proxy

I'm a Mediacom customer that's currently assigned an IP on their 173.16.0.0/12 block, which apparently someone in my range or that previously had my IP set up a proxy (which has been subsequently blocked). Can anyone help me out? Jason Patton (talk) 06:52, 26 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
