editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at Jose Boedo. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Jboedo. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Jose Boedo, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Scorbunny (talk) 01:43, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
Response to Managing a conflict of interest
editDear Scornbunny, Thanks for your comments. I did not create this article. Nothing is sold or bought and no redirection is done to any web pages that do so. None of the content is for profit or self-promotion directly or indirectly. My employer is cited in the article (University of California San Diego) and there is no client and the only product is open research in the form of journal articles which are cited as references. The article was created as a result of my receiving the American Physical Society Fellowship. I did not create this article, but it was so devoid of facts and information in its original form that it was not useful for Wikipedia. In particular, had no references at all and no scientific facts to justify the nomination. I modified the original text slightly, but mostly, I have been adding facts and references to add value to the article. So far, most of the information I added is factual, only about my work in science and I added references to scholarly articles to backup almost every statement. Anyone can check it. There is almost no personal information, no references to blogs, social media or questionable sources. Although it is true I added a lot of content, it is all facts about science. I was planning on adding more references to plasma physics pages and educational sources, but I dont want to break any Wikipedia rules. So let me know if Wikipidia finds the article unnaceptable and I will stop investing time and effort into it.Jboedo (talk) 02:09, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
