Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Because Wikipedia does not allow any form of spam or other promotion of people, products, companies or other groups (even non-commercial or charitable ones). Wikipedia's use for such purposes will result in the blocking of the account involved. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for our rules about this.

In addition, user accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing. Your username should reflect this. Usernames that appear to be promotional (such as those that make reference to a company or product) violate our username policy and are grounds for blocking.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than yourself, your group, company or product, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Tell us what new username you want to use. Please make sure that your new username does not violate our username policy and check that it has not already been taken here.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If instead you believe that you have been blocked by mistake (i.e., you have not in fact been using Wikipedia for promotional purposes), please write {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box and replace the text "Your reason here" with the reason why. See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 21:41, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hello, I'd like to change the username to "mentorcapital". I have read the Wikipedia guidelines carefully and would like to make changes to the Wikipedia entry that follow the suggestions -- removing redundant links, adding reliable, secondary sources (in line with the notability guidelines), and removing any language that may construe a promotional tone. Please advise.

Decline reason:

Under the conflict of interest guidelines, we all agree to avoid writing about ourselves and our own organizations. However, if you ever become inspired to help write the encyclopedia, and are willing to avoid writing about your organization, feel free to create a personal username and help. Request reason:

Thank you for reviewing my case. With due respect, I would like you to consider the following lines from the policy: "Even though most COI editing is discouraged, in limited cases some edits from COI editors may still be welcome. See the non-controversial edits section below." Below, I pasted the non-controversial edits allowed. We would primarily like to add citations and sources, as allowed below and as Wikipedia itself instructs us to do on the Wikipedia entry. I am also free to discuss any concerns along the way on the "Talk" page. In addition to reinstating our access, I would very much appreciate any tips for removing the three disclaimers at the top of the entry - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endeavor_(non-profit). Thanks very much. Non-controversial edits Editors who may have a conflict of interest are allowed to make certain kinds of non-controversial edits, such as: Removing spam and reverting vandalism. Deleting content that violates Wikipedia's biography of living persons policy. Fixing spelling and grammar errors. Reverting or removing their own COI edits. Cleaning up your own mess is allowed and encouraged. Making edits that have been agreed to on the talk page. Adding citations, especially when another editor has requested them. Adding pointers to primary sources in archives, special collections or libraries in the Research resources section of an article. Also, adding External links to digitized or digital primary sources or finding aids. Editors working for such organizations are requested to review WP:EL (useful links to on-line, non-promotional material related to the article), WP:NPOV, WP:NOSHARE and WP:ORGNAME. The last two mean don't create a shared organizational account and don't include the name of the organization in the account name. It is recommended but not required for such editors to declare their affiliation on their user page. If another editor objects for any reason, then it's a controversial edit. Such edits should be discussed on the article's talk page.

Hi, what kinds of articles do you intend to edit if unblocked? –Juliancolton | Talk 16:03, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I intend to edit the article on Endeavor, in accordance with the Wikipedia guidelines mentioned above, making ONLY non-controversial edits.Endeavor global (talk) 18:44, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Even so, you're going to want a name change - As it is the name is that of a company, which is enough for a username block (as it makes the account appear to be a shared account, which violates the licenses used by Wikipedia). If unblocked, I'd recommend that your first stop be Wikipedia:Changing username. -Jeremy (v^_^v Stop... at a WHAMMY!!) 20:22, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks very much. I'll be the only person using this account. Endeavor global (talk) 22:35, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Alright. Use {{unblock-un|Mentor capital}} to file the request. (Copy it as it appears on the screen, not the edit window.) -Jeremy (v^_^v Stop... at a WHAMMY!!) 00:06, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mentor Capital is also an organization name, as seen here: [1] Please try a little harder to understand the policy, you can't edit using a name which implies you represent a group, company, or other organization. — Beeblebrox (talk) 20:23, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Please make sure your first edit is a request to change to this name at WP:CHU

Request handled by: Beeblebrox (talk) 19:30, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

I'd like to request that the disclaimers at the top of the Wikipedia entry "Endeavor" be removed, since I added in a host of reliable secondary sources (e.g., New York Times) and links. Thank you for reviewing.(Endeavor global (talk) 16:13, 3 November 2009 (UTC))Reply

You are blocked again

edit

I thought it had been made abundantly clear to you that you need to change your username before resuming editing. Since you have ignored the plain message in my unblock notice, I have re-blocked your account. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:39, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure I understand. I did change it. Before it was "Endeavor global" and I changed it to "jb123" and it was approved. Can I ask what went wrong? (I'm sorry, this is my first time on Wikipedia and I thought I followed the instructions.) (Endeavor global (talk) 18:12, 4 November 2009 (UTC))Reply

Ok, I see, you can't actually change your username from your talkpage. As you can see from your signature, it has not been changed. You need to file a request at WP:CHU in order to actually change it, which is why I mentioned that in my previous unblocking notice. I'll unblock you now so you can do that. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:19, 4 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm not able to change it because I'm blocked by Beeblebrox. It says this: "You are currently unable to edit pages on Wikipedia due to an autoblock affecting your IP address." Did the unblock go through? In the meantime, if there's any way you can remove the disclaimers for the "Endeavor" post I'd really appreciate it - I added secondary links just as Wikipedia asked for.(Endeavor global (talk) 20:22, 4 November 2009 (UTC))Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Bruce Feiler 01 lg.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:21, 4 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
