Request reason:

There's absolutely no reason to block me. I have no relationship to any of the subjects of any edits made and don't have an alternate account. I participated as an editor in the past but have not had an account here for at least 10+ years. I decided to register today and contribute again and there's no reason for me to be blocked. No reason has been offered. What, exactly, am I being accused of, and what contribution of mine is at issue? EDIT: It looks like I'm being accused of being some other user, for reasons known only to the accusers I suppose. Guess it's comforting to see that Wikipedia is just as inhospitable and capricious as I remember it from the early days. Oh well. But you should be aware you got this one wrong, perhaps you should revisit whatever flawed system is causing you to come to this conclusion.

Accept reason:

After consulting with another editor experienced with this particular sockmaster, doubts have been raised and out of an abundance of caution I am unblocking you pending a CU check which has been requested. I apologize for any inconvenience. Ad Orientem (talk) 23:56, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm at a WeWork in Midtown Manhattan. If that fact, alone, is sufficient cause to ban someone permanently from Wikipedia then, I mean, OK I guess go for it but that seems like a pretty dubious way to run a website. Obvipously there's nothing about my innocuous edits that would be relevant to being blocked. This may come as news but there are places called "Co Working Spaces" where people do things like share offices, and share IP addresses, and even share couches and chairs. In fact, shockingly, when I went to make myself a coffee earlier, I used a coffee cup that I think might have been used by a different person yesterday. By the logic of this ban that makes me the same person as every other person to ever lift this mug to their lips. Clearly this type of logic is unassailable and flawless.
