Welcome to Wikipedia!

Dear Jeffalbert: welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk (discussion) page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.

One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!   --Chriswaterguy talk 09:07, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Appropriate technology

Hi Jeff,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you stay around and keep contributing.

Are you still planning on adding references to your work on Appropriate_technology#Water_treatment? Good to see you working on this, by the way. (The wiki linking. i.e. double square brackets, was lost in your edits, which I'll fix up a little - ). I'm unsure of some of the details of what you've written, so I'd prefer to let you go first. Also I'm mainly busy with Appropedia at the moment. Cheers --Chriswaterguy talk 09:07, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jeff - thanks for your note. I look forward to seeing your further contributions.
One tip for contributing to a wiki though: please if you delete content, as you did in Appropriate technology #Water treatment, be sure and put your reason in the edit summary. I've just re-added that content for the second time - but I will emphasize that I'm happy to see it rewritten or replaced with something suitable. Cheers --Chriswaterguy talk 08:18, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
