Deletion of Jeff Boman

I deleted this page under criterion for speedy deletion A7, because the page "does not assert the importance or significance of its subject". I came to the conclusion that all the potential claims for importance in the article were not truly significant to justify inclusion. Founding a privately circulated comic magazine, and writing articles in them are not truly exceptional things. If you think this judgment is wrong you can challenge it in a deletion review.

Further the article was not written in the sought of neutral, dispassionate tone of an encyclopedia article. As you explain, it was an autobiography, which means that there was a conflict of interest in writing the article.

In order to be considered notable for inclusion in Wikipedia, a subject needs to have had multiple non-trivial mentions in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. This article did not demonstrate that. If you can demonstrate that the subject of this article does have such sources then it might be acceptable; however, you should not be writing about yourself. Responding to your HD question. I see that the deleting editor has, in fact, gone out of his way to provide a detailed and very polite explanation of the deletion. As I am not an admin, I cannot retrieve a copy of the deleted article, but if Sam's comments are accurate - and I have absolutely no reason to think otherwise, based on his good record - then the page certainly warranted immediate deletion. I note, also, that your comment on his talk page is still there. However, what worries me is this: Special:Contributions/Magicswebpage. Why would this new user be interested in adding a comment - with no other contribs - unless this account is either a sockpuppet or a meatpuppet? But, as per AGF, I will assume that this is simply a remarkable coincidence and leave it at that. With regard to the policies of Wikipedia- specifically those that relate to article standards - these links will help you. Please take the time to read, digest and understand them: Verifiability, Attribution, Notability, Corporations and businesses, Conflict of interest, Spam and advertising and Reliable sources. Now, please do not infer that I am suggesting that you violated any or all of these policies - I am not, because I cannot know for sure without seeing the article in question - but they all apply to article subjects such as this and they are all very important. My credits are cited elsewhere

I am credited in fps magazine, at Cracked Mirror Publications, and others. It doesn't make sense that I would not then have any importance as you put it. Other members are valid for their other credits, and the publication itself is. My deletion makes no sense in that light.
