Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!-Andrew c [talk] 02:50, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editWhen you edit wikipedia for the sole purpose of adding a link to an external site, or adding a link to a newly publish book, whether it was your intentions or not, this is seen as spam. The link you have been adding does not meet out WP:EL guidelines. Links must meet out policies, and generally be reliable, sourced, not self-published, and notable. Being a self-published website/blog, the link doesn't meet our requirements, and there are also notability concerns as well. As for the book, you have added the book to "reference" sections when the book is NOT used as a reference in the articles. You have also added the link to "further reading" section, which may be appropriate, except it seems like your only purpose here on wikipedia so far is to promote a book, which is seen as spam, so I have reverted your edits. If you are the author or publisher of the book, you also need to read WP:COI and please consider not editing regarding your own work. If the book really is notable, then someone without a conflict of interest can add it at another time. Finally, the best way to help out wikipedia, is not adding links or books, but adding actual sourced content. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to contact me, or simply type {{helpme}} here on your user page, and as a question for an admin to respond to. Thanks for your consideration.-Andrew c [talk] 02:50, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
